Speedy deletion nomination of Chellie Campbell

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chellie Campbell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gaijin42 (talk) 20:32, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at Chellie Campbell

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, thank you for taking the time to create a page here. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the deletion tag you removed from Chellie Campbell. Please do not continue to remove the deletion tag, instead, if you disagree with the deletion, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the page by clicking this link. Once there, select the button that says Click here to contest this speedy deletion.
  2. This will take you to the talk page, where you can make your case by explaining why the page does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. For further help about the deletion, you could contact the user who first placed the tag or a highly active user who is willingly to help with deletion. This message was left by a bot, so please do not contact the bot about the deletion. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:29, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Chellie Campbell, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Chellie Campbell

Hi there. Thanks, and welcome to Wikipedia. While looking through new pages, I saw you created an article on Chellie Campbell which looks pretty good, and it's also good that you've added some references at the bottom. I thought I might let you know that we often will put the sources in the text, we call this referencing in-line. You can find an explanation on how to do this here. If you get stuck, don't hesitate to ask me for help on my talk page. You can also ask for help at our help page for newer users or place {{helpme}} here with a request and someone will be around soon to help you out. Happy editing! :) Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 09:28, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation

edit

Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. You are welcome to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit once you feel they have been resolved.
Well it didn't help that I couldn't see the references when I reviewed the submission. Having fixed the references afterwards, and looking at it again, I would say it's borderline on failing Wikipedia notability requirement. I'm happy to undo my decision and let someone else take another look at it. KTC (talk) 17:42, 26 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've left another comment at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Local Splash. I suggest you resubmit the article for another editor to review. I'm not sure about the notability because while the article wizard indeed contains the text you left at my talk page, the actual wikipedia policies (Notability & Notability (organizations and companies)) don't mention listing in indices as a valid criteria for notability. You may also wish to check the other concerns I mentioned, and see if you think they are valid. Millermk90 (talk) 05:41, 28 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Local Splash

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Proposed deletion of Local Splash

edit

The article Local Splash has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I can't find any significant independent coverage of this company as WP:CORP requires. I can only find press releases and the rankings are not sufficiently in depth.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Local Splash for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Local Splash is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Local Splash until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SmartSE (talk) 20:25, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, JeffBordeaux. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Local Splash, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 17:44, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Only warning

edit

I've reviewed your contributions to Wikipedia over the last several months. Virtually all your contributions during this period are oriented around promoting your clients. Wikipedia is not the place for you to promote your employer (and clients). If you make one more promotional edit, I will immediately block your account for an indefinite period of time. The only reason I am not doing so now is so that you may defend yourself and your edits (if you wish) on the various talk or deletion pages. If this is not clear, please comment below and I will respond shortly. Rklawton (talk) 22:38, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

You should also mention that your previous account was User:ThuggiesDotNet. While there's nothing wrong with creating a new account to replace an account with an inappropriate name (Thuggies left it unclear whether you were editing as an individual or as an organization), you should disclose the name of the prior account so that your editing is more transparent - especially when editing the same article even though it's after the previous account has been blocked.
