Orphaned non-free media (Image:NOC logo EST.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:NOC logo EST.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:03, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Otto the otter.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Otto the otter.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. {{Estonia-Olympic-medalist-stub}} edit

Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:23, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

United States under-23 men's national soccer team edit

Undiscussed article moves are permissible if and only if such a move is not controversial. The terminology of the game of soccer is a contested issue with respect to American soccer, and merits at least some discussion as to the validity of an article move. You would also do well to look at the titles of other articles such as United States men's national soccer team and United States women's national soccer team for guidance by precedent.

Next time, please take greater care in considering the consequences of a page move; there were a couple of redirects I had to fix on other pages to make sure most, if not all links, were once again proper. --Roehl Sybing (talk) 14:50, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Swimming tables edit

This table looks very good. I think maybe the track and field events should also be put into such tables? Though this table style doesn´t allow to present all 6 trials - a la discus throw, etc. Karabinier (talk) 14:28, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, just fixed wikilink Christoph von Mecklenburg to Christopher, Duke of Mecklenburg-Gadebusch.Jaanusele (talk) 13:17, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Neither of those links work on your home page. It's a hoax article, I don't know that I want it changed, given the point is to preserve it as it was. Please don't do this again without my permission first.JJJ999 (talk) 23:55, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of List of shopping malls in Estonia edit

The article List of shopping malls in Estonia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unmaintainable and unencyclopedic list lacking in sourcing. Consists primarily of redlinks.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Divebomb is not British 19:06, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Krzyż Wolności/Vabadusrist (Polish Wikipedia) edit

Hello,

Thank you for adding a very interesting list of Polish recipients of the Estonian Liberty Cross. This list may be deleted in the future as it lacks any source. I have just written a new article on the Liberty Cross for Polish Wikipedia (Krzyż Wolności) based on sources/bibliography and in the end of the article I have kept your list of Polish recipients, but as I said, it may be deleted in the future (a warning has been already issued) as I am unable to document the source of information added by you in 2008. If you could give me the source of your information (link or a book title/author/date and place of publication/ISBN and page number) it would save this section from risk of being erased in the future. Please, contact me here, or on Polish Wikipedia: Wikipedysta:Kiejstut9 Kiejstut9 (talk) 20:20, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi ! The source used there was: Eesti tänab 1919-2001, Tallinn 2001, ISBN 9985-78-067-1 (MS-Word 5.3MB) from the Estonian Government Office´s webpage.--Jaanusele (talk) 11:54, 12 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
