AfD nomination of List of unfortunately-named Brands edit

I have nominated List of unfortunately-named Brands, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of unfortunately-named Brands. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. February 2009 edit

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 21:04, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

  Hello Infilms! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 937 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Proposed deletion of Peter Hayes (sculptor) edit

The article Peter Hayes (sculptor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-nonnotable sculpture without independent sources for 3 years now. Only sources I can find are self-published.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ricky81682 (talk) 20:30, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Debee Ashby edit

I have removed material from Debee Ashby that does not comply with our policy on the biographies of living persons. Biographical material must always be referenced from reliable sources, especially negative material. Negative material that does not comply with that must be immediately removed. Note that the removal does not imply that the information is either true or false.

Please do not reinsert this material unless you can provide reliable citations, and can ensure it is written in a neutral tone. Please review the relevant policies before editing in this regard. Editors should note that failure to follow this policy may result in the removal of editing privileges.

John Patrick Hawker moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to John Patrick Hawker. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ❯❯❯ Chunky aka Al Kashmiri (✍️) 02:39, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you - I agree that notability is critical. I had assumed that being honoured as a member of the Order of the British Empire would establish this (doesn’t get much better than a medal from a Sovereign!) and the fact of that award is confirmed in the linked article listing awardees honoured in 2006. So unpacking your helpful comment: are you suggesting that I should include citations to justify the significance of a national medal (I am not sure that is within the scope of this article) or is your comment that the article needs more citations in general? I appreciate your support to strengthen this draft. Hugh Mason (talk) 03:04, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
