The Hala'ib Triangle is an area in dispute between Egypt and Sudan. You are a brand-new editor, so you may not realize that to make a pro-Egypt (or pro-Sudan) edit to this article violates one of our cardinal principles, WP:NPOV, a policy you should read and understand. Please not continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view. Thanks, Beyond My Ken (talk) 01:42, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Just to note, should this fail at featured pictures now, I'm pretty sure it'll pass easily once the article's expanded a bit, so the context is a bit clearer, and I would strongly encourage you to renominate it later. (Particularly as Islamic subjects are so badly represented.) Also, the months of July and August are always really slow at Featured pictures - a lot of people go on holiday during them - so it'll have a lot more eyes in, say, September.
I do think the picture is fantastic, just the article itself isn't quite good enough to give it the "encyclopedic value" requirement. Perhaps if it was in Fanous as well? Adam Cuerden(talk)17:06, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
Linking
Latest comment: 10 years ago2 comments1 person in discussion
Hi there, and thanks for your work on en.WP.
Please remember that we don't normally link dates, years, or common terms on this WP.
I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/
Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.

Hi! I was wondering if you had some time to check up on some edits that some of my students are making on Wikipedia. I teach a group of refugees German, and to get them more interested in reading and writing I showed them how to add some information about their new home on ar-wiki (They now live in western Austria). It would be at most a few minutes a week. Setting sitelinks and categories and maybe correcting some minor mistakes. This is the very small start of the project ar:Gaisbuehel. If you don't have time: Is there a place where I could ask for such help? --Tobias1984 (talk) 15:28, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Ibrahim,
I made an inquiry on your Arabic talk page and did not receive a reply. I would like to show you references so you understand the notability of the school articles.
On any Wiki version it is strongly preferred to just open a deletion nomination instead of doing a speedy deletion.
Thank you for your reply. It would be nice to continue this conversation:
It is true that policies on ARWiki differ from ENWiki. However doing good work on Wikipedia means implementing the best practice. If you study ENwiki deletion debates (I can find an link you to some if you'd like) you'll understand why it's not a good idea to do A7 on schools. I would apply that to ARWiki and think: "Even though the ARWiki allows deletion of A7 in school cases, doing so is harmful to the community and causes lots of problems and this is clear from seeing what happened on ENwiki, so I should NOT delete schools with A7 on ARwiki." What makes the community run best? What works? What doesn't work?
I will address: ", unfortunately this schools don't have enough notability, also it are too small without any references (100% speedy deletion), so I had to delete it. "
In the case of International Philippine School in Jeddah there is clear notability from the Arab News and Educational Research for Policy and Practice articles. They may not have been posted to the Arabic article, but if you check the English article it's clear they exist. Such sources can be found about many other schools around the world. This is why you need to take time to examine the scenario before doing a speedy. I work on school articles a lot and in my experience it's not difficult in finding reliable sources on senior high schools.
Deleting stubs is like pulling a small plant by the root from the soil. If you just remove a small plant it has no time to grow, but if you let the plant stay it can become a beautiful flower. That's why I only tag stubs for deletion if I think it is impossible for it to become a notable topic/article.
And unless defamatory statements are made about living people, or it's an unambiguous copyright violation, or it's clear nonsense, etc. you don't have to delete right away. There's no rush. You can always wait. You can always ask a question, feel things out, etc.
You can, say, message the person who created the stub and say "Hey, what's up? I notice you created the stubs but they don't have sources." And he/she will be given a chance to address the issue before it becomes a deletion. This is important to do: without doing that people will be driven away from Wikipedia. People hate seeing their work deleted.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mohamed Elnoby, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Amazon. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, Ibrahim.ID. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Felix Götze until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. S.A. Julio (talk) 04:14, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Götze (disambiguation). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Goetze. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Goetze. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Harry Canyon (talk) 14:10, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
I have found the file ar:File:ويكيبيديا-الثلث-بالحلية.png and I find it to be of very high quality and would like to use it here on the English Wikipedia to illustrate the articles Arabic calligraphy, Thuluth script, and so on. I feel that using a religious example as our first example of Arabic calligraphy is inappropriate, and your image is a perfect neutral thing to use. Of course, the other examples will be left alone, but your image is a good first example.
I could just move it to Commons and begin using it, but it is unfortunately of low resolution and I would like to use SVG format. Can you please make available the graphic in the vector format it was originally created in, such as Adobe Illustrator format? Or SVG, which would be preferred. Even if you used PhotoShop or some raster graphics software to make it, there is a chance that that version is higher resolution and would look better on today's modern high density displays, such as 4K monitors and OLED cellphones.

A tag has been placed on Rami Imam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Hi, I saw that you attempted to nominate the article Ahmad Kadry for deletion, but you failed to give a reason as to why you feel the article should be deleted. Please add your reasons for why you feel the article should be deleted to the deletion discussion, or if the AfD is closed/deleted before you have a chance to do so, feel free to re-nominate with your reasoning attached. Hello Ibrahim.ID. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Haifa Hassony, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: hosting on a notable network indicates significance. Thank you. SoWhy12:50, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Greetings. For your information, another attempt was made to recreate the Ahmad Kadry article--this time the result was speedy deletion and the blocking of accounts for sockpuppetry (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/RushdySulivan). I wanted to ask your opinion about another article--Mohamed Aamer was created by the same creator, with similar all-Arabic sourcing, and with a similarly tenuous claim to notability. What is your view on the sourcing? Does an article on this person exist on the Arabic wiki? Thank you for your time. --Finngalltalk23:36, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

This edit is an example of many such edits you have made that makes no meaningful change to the article; all that was removed were some unneeded spaces. Per Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser "Do not make insignificant or inconsequential edits. An edit that has no noticeable effect on the rendered page is generally considered an insignificant edit. If in doubt, or if other editors object to edits on the basis of this rule, seek consensus at an appropriate venue before making further similar edits." and the same should apply to AutoEd. If your edit changes nothing that impacts the way the article looks to the reader, please don't change it. Alansohn (talk) 18:37, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
