Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Sandrow studio. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Hope Sandrow, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Dharmalion76 (talk) 21:04, 1 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Sandrow studio/sandbox

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Sandrow studio/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://hopesandrow.com/site/about.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Request reason:

Although a long time fan and user referring to WIKIPEDIA unique array of information in my work as an artist - - please accept my apologies for the inconvenience my first attempts to create an account (thank you for pointing out the error of my naming which I propose to change to my own name Hope Sandrow BUT please understand your assumptions wrong because Sandrow Studio is only me Hope Sandrow ... I am a conceptual artist...not a commercial enterprise) and entering info has caused you.....frankly I was not able to absorb all the do's and dont's this is my first time...and I was not intentionally including promotional but rather references to globally respected art magazine Artforum and museums Whitney Met MOMA...which I will not again other then cite as a reference? ...now when I visit WIKIPEDIA pages that request more info added or clarification to a subject I will be able to via this account...the reason for my wanting to now and not before is "your" adding a stub page for me effects participation as a member in the Wikipedia community which I didn't before

Accept reason:

User has been renamed, and based on the discussion below, agrees not to edit about themselves, their business, or anything with which they are connected. Unblocking. ST47 (talk) 06:45, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Hope Sandrow! Before I proceed with your unblock, I just need to clarify your unblock request reason. As I understand, if unblocked, you will continue to make edits to the article Hope Sandrow, but will not use ArtForum as a reference? Let me know if that's a correct understanding of your statement. Thank you! Chetsford (talk) 22:07, 3 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

globally renamed Sandrow studio to Hope Sandrow

globally renamed Sandrow studio to Hope Sandrow. Someone else will review the unblock request, but at first blush, I'd say you must agree to not edit about or link to your business, your own works, anything with which you are connected.-- Deepfriedokra 17:20, 3 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes I agree Hope Sandrow (talk) 15:08, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes absolutely I agree in your words "not edit about "Hope Sandrow" or link to my business (I'm an artist not a business), my own works, anything with which connected.Hope Sandrow (talk) 15:08, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
I've removed 3 of the 4 unblock requests from this page. Only one open needed at a time, please. SQLQuery me! 21:26, 8 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
