Yet another quick question

The blocking policy is kind of vague on this, but is standard practice now to block obvious socks that repeatedly create a deleted article - case: Gary McIlroy; is a checkuser investigation needed first (even though it is about as obvious as it gets)? Years ago, it was basically up to the admin, but the policies are kind of vague from what I see as mentioned. RN 16:48, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

WP:DUCK. If it quacks, block it! ;) No need for an SPI or a CU. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:56, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Just had my first potential use for rollback so, if your offer still stands, I thought I would request it (per the conversation linked in the section title). If you'd prefer I'd formally request it, just let me know! Thanks, ialsoagree (talk) 18:15, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

No. 10

HJ,

Just a quick question but it's been bugging me for a while. Why do they call the Prime Minister No. 10? Who is No. 1? Thanks Cwill151 (talk) 00:03, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

The PM himself isn't called "no. 10", it refers to his address- 10 Downing Street. Rather like the American media might say "The White House released a statement..." :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:09, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Signatures

Hi, could you help me? I thought my signature already contains links to my user page and talk page. I visited the WP:SIG page, but I couldn't find anything that would help me. Sorry if I am doing my signatures wrong. L Kensington (talkcontribs) 03:12, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

How are you currently signing? Are you using four tildes (~) or pressing the signature button? If not, that's what you should do. In a few of your recent edits, it looked like you just typed your name out, which can confuse archiving bots and doesn't link to your userpage or talk page. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:12, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
I do the signature manually. When I type the four tildes it looks like this: L Kensington 03:18, 22 July 2010 (UTC) and doesn't give either the links to the talk or user page. I don't see the signature button when manually doing edits, so I don't use it. I'm sorry for creating confusion. I think my edits done under huggle are okay though. Thanks. L Kensington (talkcontribs) 03:23, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Have you edited the code for your signature in your preferences? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:23, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
L, you can put all that in your Signature field on the My Preferences page. You would just need to add the Wiki code as follows:
L Kensington (talk • contribs)
Once you have done this, just sign with the four tildes ~~~~ and all that, plus the time code will come up automatically. Need help, just ask. - NeutralhomerTalk03:24, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I just edited it, and tested it and it works. Thank you so much, HJ Mitchell & Neutralhomer L Kensington (talkcontribs) 03:30, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Random thanks

Hey there, I was about to ask to be a reviewer when I realized you made me one last month. Thanks, now I just need to figure out how pending revisions work. Also, sorry about my outburst last week, I let my emotions get the best of me sometimes. ~DC Let's Vent 03:33, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Also, what would you think about adding a real table of contents to WP:ITNC. I tried it here but it looks really off. I was thinking adding a TOC would help people find older stories, so we can avoid bumping. I also think it's time to drop the current events templates (or at least have them collapsed by default) because they've gotten so unwieldy lately. ~DC Let's Vent 04:02, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

It happens to the best of us, but some things are better to vent in private than on one of out most visible talk pages! You're always welcome to email me. Pending changes isn't that difficult. If you don't go looking for them, you'll just get a message flash up on your watchlist telling you that an edit need reverting. If it's vandalism or libel, roll it back as you would anywhere else, if it's misguided but good faith, undo it, otherwise clicking on the orange "pending changes" link takes you to a diff and there's an accept button for you to click- it takes a while because PC is very slow, but it seems to have got faster since it came in. :)
I think the TOC is a good idea. I'm not sure about collapsing the current events boxes, though they are getting absurdly long. I think we should archive ITN/C more often- there's no need to have a whole week of nominations, it just makes the page unnavigable and nothing older than 3 or 4 days gets posted anyway. On an entirely unrelated note, I've made nearly 1000 edits to ITN/C. Just thought I'd share that with you! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 04:08, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

rights removed

In this edit you notified me you were removing rollback rights for my account, but I noticed then that your change to my account actually removed other rights. I don't see now how to see what changed, but i believe you removed "autoreviewed" and one or two other rights. You also removed just rollback rights for User:Blueboar.

The apparent edit war situation that led you to your decision seems to be resolving, in discussion at Talk:List of Masonic buildings (in favor of restoring the NRIS reference that the other editor was removing, and which I was restoring, but with a modified format of the reference). I did consider the other editor's edits to be essentially vandalism, but I recognize that I should not have used the rollback button, and I am not arguing with your decision to remove rollback. Could you revisit the removal of other rights, though? Thanks. --doncram (talk) 06:51, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Question About Permissions

How long can you take a break without your permissions being taken away, like reviewer and rollback? With a wikibreak and without. I have a busy life right now and not much time to be on here but I dont want my permissions taken away. Thanks. Joe Gazz84 (user)(talk)(contribs) 11:31, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

It's unlikely that anybody will remove your permissions, but if they're removed simply because you're inactive, you can drop a note here or for any other admin and they'll be restored. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 11:39, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

WP:RFPP

Is it okay if I make comments on requests at WP:RFPP? I don't want to make another mistake like I did with WP:PERM (inappropriately marking stuff as done or notdone). At RFPP I just was making comments on current requests. Mr. R00t Talk 23:17, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Those three comments all look fine to me - useful, constructive comments. Personally I find non-admin comments helpful. I'd imaging HJ and other RFPP regulars feel the same: I used to make similar comments at RFPP and no one ever trouted me for it. TFOWR 23:24, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
TFOWR: I've just had problems with this in the past. Mr. R00t Talk 23:29, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough, and good comments from HJ and mazca (and the same applies at RFPP - don't decline or mark as resolved, but commenting is still extremely useful). What I like to see is that an editor has considered the situation and is making a recommendation to the admin that considers the case, or is offering advice to the editor that requested protection (either before or after an admin has examined the case). The three examples you provided all looked like they meet my criteria: they're exactly what I'd like to see non-admins doing at RFPP. TFOWR 23:36, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
I like non-admin comments at RfPP. There are a few other non-admins who make comments and, frankly, if it saves me a few minutes, so much the better. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:53, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict)You shouldn't even appear to decline a request, as your comments did for the unsalting of Alex Meyer- that was a very legitimate request, from a user who knows what he's doing, and you turned it away very abruptly. I don't mean to sound too harsh, but there's more productive uses of your time than clerking RFPP, since a sysop has to check your work each and every time anyway. Courcelles (talk) 23:55, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
BTW, HJ (or any talk page stalkers who are admins), RFPP can use some work now. Connormahtalk 23:58, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
I'll wander over for a brief visit (I've been trying to get to bed for a while now). On that subject - does anyone know which three diffs I thought I was talking about, above? I was certain I'd checked three RFPP diffs that Mr. R00t posted originally, but I can't see them now, or in the history... am I missing something, or is tiredness playing tricks on me?! TFOWR 00:01, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, on the plus side I found Mr. R00t's RFPP comments (at RFPP, surprisingly enough...) I was too slow to do anything useful, and too tired to focus on the remaining requests. RFPP looks healthier, though, thanks to HJ and Courcelles, and Mr. R00t and Allmightyduck. TFOWR 00:18, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
And there I was hoping to palm the climate change off on you! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:20, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Just to clarify ...

... in response to your edit summary, AGiorgio08 removed the source as well as the statement in the article because the source is subscription-only (that turns out to be true). I restored the statement with a fact tag. A quick scan of the page history seems to show that the statement was added about four months ago with that same source (and no others). To my knowledge, there has been no "meddling" with that particular statement prior to today. Thanks. Cresix (talk) 23:50, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

What I meant was that the other sources somehow got lost- most likely in part of the re-ordering of the article to make it entirely chronological that Siawase and I did a few months ago before we got the article up to GA. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:57, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Maybe I am misunderstanding, but I looked at the page history going back about four months, and that particular statement never had another source except the one that was removed. In any event, however, that's water over the dam. Cheers. Cresix (talk) 00:19, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I can haz feedback plz?

I've done a little work on John Joseph Woods, and I'm trying to get it up to DYK standard. As I have absolutely no idea what exactly that is (although this says it's eligible), could you please give it a once-over? My writing and structure is abysmal, so be warned. Thanks, sonia♫♪ 11:30, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

To me (using a different script) it looks like you need a few hundred more characters, but the article itself looks pretty reasonable. I'll have a more detailed look at it later on and give it a copy edit if necessary. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 11:56, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
It's eligible, 800 characters to 4,115 = 5.14x expansion, so you're a little over, in fact. After coughing my lungs up all night, though, coediting is beyond my current level of sanity. Courcelles (talk) 12:00, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
I've added a little, hopefully it meets the few hundred more characters now? Seriously though, this is actually all the information I could find on this elusive guy, even in the archives. (I found some beautiful hand-written letters and original manuscripts, but I'm not sure if they're PD or I would scan and upload them...pity.) sonia♫♪ 21:38, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Look fine to me. According to User:Dr pda/prosesize.js, you're 600 characters over the minimum expansion required for DYK, so nice work. Hey

Hey, I'm currently working on something and I'm trying to find a cover for a promo single. In eBay, there is a cover, but if you see the image, it is not fit for Wikipedia. I cannot find an appropriate image anywhere. Can you help me find it? -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 21:03, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, I had a look through Google Images but couldn't find anything suitable. All I got was pictures of Taylor Swift (she is very pretty ;)!). Is the song notable? You might just have to to wait for something to become available. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:31, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I ran the most extensive google image search too and nothing. I got like 10 pictures of Taylor and even Homer Simpson. LOL! I wonder what he has to do with anything. Is there any other place where images can be found? And the song (as far as the original goes) is not notable. The cover by Taylor Swift charted on two charts and was part of a record. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 22:30, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
By record I mean a chart record, not an album (which it was also part of though). -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 22:31, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

CHAR_No.4

Originally an easy G11/A7 speedy, then the new-ish author contested it and I've been trying to explain the speedy and other policies to him and the article has improved a fair amount.... is asserting that it was rated the #1 whiskey bar in New York and another mention about it once having a top-rating sandwich enough to save it from A7? I'm totally unsure where the author has a conflict of interest.... could be either way. Not sure if it's still an edge A7 case... Ryan Norton 19:30, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

I avoid A7 like the plague, which is why I only declined the G11, but that sounds like a credible assertion of significance/notability to me. I declined the G11 because it certainly doesn't seem promotional to me. I'm not necessarily saying that's what happened in this instance, but there are some new-page patrollers who treat G11 as a "back door" route when they know a db-corp wouldn't fly. There are also those who'll tag any new article on a company by a new editor. Whether the bar really is notable, I don't now, but I don't think it's a speedy. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:42, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, interesting point. Back 4 years ago A7 was basically the solution for promotional articles, as G11 didn't exist. Now A7 is kinda rough, and seems to kill a lot of early-made articles, just as it did 4 years ago (as the rather emotional note of "WHY??!?" on my talk page illustrates, even though it was a couple hours old, certainly makes me think twice about it). I might just do the same, although in terms of Wikipedia seems like an odd "solution"; maybe A7 needs a rethink...

Two other things I notice: 1) A lot more complaining on my talk page - seems the wikipedia policies are (better?) informing people to complain to the exact administrator rather then the notice board. 2) About half the A7s I come across have hangon tags on them.... it existed back then but was rarely used. Ryan Norton 00:58, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

I see the A7 was declined a few hours ago by another admin. I make a point of avoiding it, as I said I would in my RfA, but I understand A7's supposed to be dealt with fairly conservatively- if it so much as hints that it might be notable, then it's not an A7, but "Foobar is a band I formed the other day with my 12-year-old friends. They haven't got a record deal yet, but we sell home-made CDs for 50p" should probably have its own criterion! ;) You'll notice that you get more people coming straight to you- the instructions (wherever they are) say to do so and it's your name that appears in a red box when they return to their page to find it gone! As for the contested, I see a few, but I only tend to deal with spam, which is usually pretty blatant, but some people think that by posting more spam on the talk page, they can save it from deletion! It's always worth reading whatever ratioanle they provided, but a lot of the contested speedies are pretty straightforward. The one thing that really bugs me is tagging articles within seconds of their creation- unless it's blatant spam or an attack page/vandalism etc, I'm often moved to go and give the tagger a bollocking before after I've dealt with the speedy! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:21, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Ahh, that makes sense, thanks; I don't think normal users could see the admin deletion data back then - that would explain it. In one case, it was "[xxx] is a [genre] recording artist." - that was the article. This is the typical rough case if the article has been hanging around for a couple hours - mostly because it might be deleted by an admin who simply doesn't care. I think in the future I might just userfy right away in that case; it's not the best solution, but I don't see a clear one for a case like this (other then ignoring it and hoping none of the 30+ admins are likely pratrolling C:SD at any given time don't nuke it and ignore the user).

Also, about the tagging - it seems like most are them seem to automated in some way now (I see WP:TWINKLE a lot...); nothing like that existed back then except for AWB, and even AWB was primitive compared to what it is now.

Anyway - thanks again for the insight, I appreciate it. Ryan Norton 03:47, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Heh, Twinkle - I survived without it for years, and managed to be quite a prolific vandal-fighter. I started using it and promptly got criticised during my RfA for not doing enough vandal-fighting ;-) That said, it's an extremely useful tool (and, I assume, its peer are as well).
Picking up on HJ's point about CSD tagging within seconds - I'm sure there's a guideline somewhere that patrollers should wait 15 minutes to give creators a chance to get their new articles up to scratch. I haven't (yet...) started telling patrollers off for too hasty tagging, but I do check article history and I won't delete articles within 15 minutes of their creation.
A7 is a nightmare - the more I look at it, the more I think I shouldn't even look at it ;-) I don't mind dealing with the "you deleted my band "Unsigned pop combo", but "Another little band" has a webpage [sic] so you're just being unfair!" complaints: it's the "is this a notable organisation/individual or not?" decisions I hate. Ideally A7s would be split up into A7a (companies in the food retailing sector), A7b (bios of people working in film), etc, so admins with experience in a given area could target that area - HJ knows about celebrities so he'd target A7b and I'd ignore it, I know about food retailing (ha! I know nothing!) so I'd target A7a, etc. As it is at present I trawl through every A7 and end up doing nothing except wasting my time (or deleting something and then getting complaints from more clueful editors who know the article I just deleted shouldn't have been deleted...)
TFOWR 08:06, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
I love Twinkle. It does just about everything. Funnily enough, though, I don't use it for reverting- I fin rollback quicker. I've recently started using Friendly as well. It's not as useful as Twinkle, but some of the features are quite handy. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:07, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Force of habit with me, I suppose. Having said that, since the last time we had this conversation I've discovered that (a) rollback is quicker (surprise, surprise!) and (b) it'll take me straight to the reverted editor's contributions. I can't get Twinkle to do that. Time for me to get into the habit of using pure rollback, and then using Friendly for warnings. (Friendly I started using about the same time as Twinkle - pretty much agree with you about it). TFOWR 15:16, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) (talk page stalker) What, are you a fish? :) Well, personally, what I think does just about everything is the edit button. Have you ever found something you couldn't do with that and a little typing? Although I realize some admin tasks are probably easier with TW. dffgd talk·edits 15:17, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
It's the "combining several actions into one" that I like - as well as avoiding the "lookup the welcome/vandal warning template" stage that I used to have to go through. Easy enough if your on vandalism patrol (you keep the tab open) but not so easy when you're minding your own business and stumble across some vandalism. Admin tasks: maybe, maybe not. I like to know how to do things manually, and I closed my first AFD using Twinkle the other day and I was glad I had manual experience - even with it I managed to make a right mess of it! ("speedy Userfied" - is that even a valid close? It's certainly not going to win me friends at WP:MOSCAPS...!) TFOWR 15:27, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
I suppose reverting the old-fashioned way (by editing an old version of the page) is fairly quick, but rollback is quicker. Twinkle is handy for batch deletion. It even unlinks backlinks! It's also good for block templates and Friendly is good for things like the shared IP templates- I can never remember all the templates. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:29, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Note that the fish thing was because you said "I fin rollback quicker." And the edit conflict was with TFOWR's comment above mine. dffgd talk·edits 21:10, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
I completely missed that earlier, now I'm sniggering! And thinking one of us (not sure who, but we need to continue the fish theme...) deserves a minnow...! TFOWR 21:20, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Really? That's pretty clearly a newbie who needs to be educated and instead was bitten pretty badly. Could you please overturn your block (or allow me to do so)? I will do my best to educate the user on our policies. NW (Talk) 02:37, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

On second thought, maybe I was wrong here. His first edit and [3] don't really look so great. NW (Talk) 02:39, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, I did check before I blocked. Apart from being an SPA, on which I might have been inclined to AGF, their first edit alone is enough to satisfy me that it's malicious an I've no patience for people who want to push libel like that. It's not just a matter of policy or the potential legal problems, but about how that person would feel if they (or somebody associated with them) decided to look at the article and found that it was repeatedly calling him gay. That said, as the note at the top of this page says, I won't object to your doing whatever you think is necessary if you feel I've erred. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:47, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi HJ Mitchell! As far as I remember, my userpage and my talk were semi-protected in December, could you semi-protect them again? Thanks. (If it doesn't bothers much =) Diego Grez what's up? 21:43, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

I've done your userpage, but user talk pages should only be protected in pretty extreme circumstances. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:35, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, thank you very much HJ. Diego Grez what's up? 00:50, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!

I just realized I never did get around to thanking you for giving me the reviewer right. Its been over a month, but the lag time is more laziness/procrastination on my part than any lack of gratitude. So, thanks! Oh, and I'm glad you like the tag on my user page. The thing has caught on to a surprising number of pages, given that its something I dreamed up one day in a fit of boredom. That said, I'm reasonably sure you're the first admin to use it.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 22:59, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Non-pressing Question

Sorry to bug you as I'm sure you're busy. Was curious as to whether or not there was any particular guidelines regarding external links on talk pages, specifically when the links seem to be posted as suggestions for the articles. This old revision of the Acne talk page prompted my question. The talk page for this article has been blanked since early June, but I'm not sure the blanking of the talk page was appropriate. ialsoagree (talk) 01:10, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Please feel free to leave a TB on my talk page. ialsoagree (talk) 01:10, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Good faith suggestions that include external links, even those that would be swiftly removed from articles, are perfectly acceptable as far as I know, but spamming (a both those "suggestions" appeared to be) is as unacceptable on a talk page as it is in an article and should be reverted or removed and the spammer warned. Hope that helps. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:20, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
That does help, thank you. ialsoagree (talk) 01:28, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

That's exactly what the editors of Troktiko thought. I've included the final notice they wrote in the article (under "Reactions"). Maybe you'd like to check it out when you have the time.
P.S. I don't normally get attached to these things, real reporters can't afford to; but this... this is just something else entirely. Sorry for taking up space on your talk page... Well if that's what I get for poking my head round the door, it'll be a while before I do so again. What kind of news agency lets its articles go unpublished for so long that they cease to be news then lambasts its editors for publishing them with a few minor issues? It's a joke! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:34, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I'll tell you the answer, no one likes to fact-check them :P Diego Grez what's up? 21:36, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
HJ: it can be difficult at times, but try not take anything Brianmc says personally — he's a bit rough around the edges at the best of times. But more to the point, don't take criticism of your contributions to be criticism of *you*. News is different than an encyclopedia. Because news needs to be published as quickly as possible, it is not possible to Assume Good Faith of user contributions.
What this ends up boiling down to is that while we should AGF of *users*, we shouldn't assume good faith of their *contributions*. All of us, including Brianmc, have our work scrutinized and occasional rejected. That includes rejected articles that we've written, rejected reviews, and reverted copyedits. It happens. It has nothing to do with your work (or *my* work, for that matter) not being valued, it has to do with the harsh realities of the news cycle.
If you assume good faith of *content* that means you end up leaving incorrect content up for weeks, months, or even years, as we all know from out experiences on Wikipedia. On Wikipedia that's fine, because articles remain open for editing indefinitely. On Wikinews articles can't have substantial changes made to them after publication (for the most part). Because of this, no incorrect content can be allowed to remain in the article during review. One of the policies that Wikinews has to help prevent fallacious content from getting through reviews is requiring that no article can be published with less than 2 completely independent sources. This drastically reduces the number of retractions we have to make.
With that in mind, please understand that while Brian needs to be a little bit slightly substantially incredibly more diplomatic in his "lambasting" of other users, he wasn't wrong to point out to you that single source articles should not be published. On Wikipedia a single sourced article is a truly minor thing, but the "two source rule" is very important on Wikinews.
Thanks for your time:). Gopher65talk 22:17, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey HJ, while what you said on Brian McNeil's talk page is true, take it easy. I would have done these reviews, but no one really likes to fact check the news. Calm down! Diego Grez what's up? 22:29, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Just checking

After your last update to "In the News", I would just like to check that you did not miss this candidate I know you're busy, so big thanks if you have a look at adding that one. Gregcaletta (talk) 01:35, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

It's OK, I keep a very close eye on ITN- look at this, I'm the third most prolific updater and I've only been doing it for a couple of months. It's a bit early to post the Wikileaks item, though- with the exception of items on WP:ITNR (like the Tour de France), it's a good idea to wait from more comments. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:42, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
OK. Sorry to rush you. I'm just a bit anxious to get it up there as quick as possible. It's the top news item on most news channels and I think its going to be hitting a lot more front pages over then next 24 hours, but I understand that you like to be careful. Gregcaletta (talk) 01:46, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
I know it's not what the title says, but ITN isn't just a rolling news ticker. Not everything in the headlines gets on and some stuff that isn't in any headlines does get on. The idea is to showcase quality encyclopaedia content that's been updated to reflect a current event. The best thing you can do for now is make sure the article is of good quality. I'll check on ITN before I go to bed in an hour or two and if I don't post it then, I probably will in the morning (UTC+1) if the consensus holds, but you needn't worry about it being overlooked by admins- I do everything I can to make sure that updated items with good support get up as quickly as possible. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:55, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
I know one of the criteria is that an article must have been "substantially updated" or an entirely new article has to have been created. I have been working hard on The War Logs, which is an entirely new article and already substantially detailed, but I'll try to improve it some more. Cheers, Gregcaletta (talk) 02:02, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Another Request

I know you are from the UK, but I was wondering if you could read something US-ish for me. I wrote a "Ecomony" section for the Stephens City, Virginia page. I just need someone to look over the facts and information, tinker if needed and let me know if anything needs fixed. It is all done by the US Census (where the "US-ish" part comes in).
