Chesty Puller edit

You recently made an edit to the Chesty Puller article, with the edit summary "Adding a setence back in." However, you actually deleted that chant and retained an older version of the salute story — with the {{fact}} tag on it. Your edit summary did not indicate the reason for removing the chant. The previous version had a reference for that item. Is there a reason that you returned the fact tag? — ERcheck (talk) 01:31, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry if I screwed up the edit, I was reverting a an edit someone made that took out a rather large chunk. I didn't add the chant back in because I thought it looked odd in an article, didn't notice a {{fact}} tag on there, my bad! Put it all back if you want though. It matters not. Hi! Of course its socketpuppet... Those two accounts are certainly DrParkes speaking for himself. But I will let the administrators deal with that. Regards Loudenvier 15:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

For goodness sakes. Its sockpuppet. SOCKPUPPET. not socket puppet. You really ought to know. You are part of one. And hopefully the administrators will deal with you! So, are they like the agents in MATRIX...? Kbenton 22:18, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Did I ever spell it socket puppet? No. That would be Loudenvier. You obviously don't care to follow the policies of Wikipedia, so I think this needs to be taken to the next level. Gelston 09:39, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I spelled socket because I was thinking about TCP/IP terms. A socket is a conduit of data, and so I thought the term was about people sharing the same sockets (in TCP/IP jargon). Now I'll have to thanx the sockpuppet DrParkes for clarifying my error! Thank you. Regards. Loudenvier 13:58, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I wasn't bothered about how you spelled it. I didn't really care. Its funny seeing how much KBenton and gang were such hypocrits though. Masalama. Gelston 18:04, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion edit

Dear Gelston, there is English translation of main source for the article Internet troll squads here: [1] (I have also copied it to talk page). I would appreciate if you could take a look, and give me a piece of advice about it. 20:11, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

I couldn't find the name Internet Troll Squads anywhere in the translation. So that name would be original research. Making a section on it under trolls would make sense or maybe under FSB, because face it, we have ONE article, and it required a translation from Russian. If it was truely notable, it wouldn't have needed that. Regardless of what happens, though, the name of the article has got to go. Gelston 05:52, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I included more sources and made many changes in the article. Right now, the existence of these "squads" is supported by at least four (maybe more) good sources, one of them a Polish newspaper. You may take a look. I have created an additional article about writer Grigory Svirsky who is a notable person and who also wrote about these squads He was a military pilot during WWII; than tried to fight censorship in the Soviet Union. I would appreciate if you could suggest a better title for the "troll" article.Biophys 21:52, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Campus Ambassadors wanted at LSU edit

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you are listed as a Wikipedian in Louisiana. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors to help with Wikipedia assignments at Louisiana State University, which will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester. The role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you live near Baton Rouge and you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone else from the area who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 17:11, 6 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Points can be earned through reviewing articles on the AutoCheck report, reviewing articles listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS, reviewing MILHIST-tagged articles at WP:GAN or WP:FAC, and reviewing articles submitted at WP:MILHIST/ACR. Service awards and barnstars are given for set points thresholds, and the top three finishers will receive further awards. To participate, sign up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_History/April 2021 Reviewing Drive#Participants and create a worklist at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/April 2021 Reviewing Drive/Worklists (examples are given).
