Wrongly placed Vandalism warning

You said I was vandalizing Wikipedia, while I was merely fixing small errors. Please clarify what I did wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.167.174.17 (talk) 21:42, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello 98.167.174.17, seems like I used the wrong template. I didn't mean to send a Vandalism warning, however I have found one of your edits, which I reverted, to be introducing a factual error. As you are a new/unregistered user and edited a statement that had a reference I went ahead and took a look at it. According to the reference the statement/quotation was correct before you edited it. I've removed the warning from your talk page. - Flori4nKT A L K 22:10, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Possible edit warring (List of Dragon Ball episodes)

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

I was reverting blanking edits / vandalism. - Flori4nKT A L K 23:41, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Flori4nK. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! – Juliancolton | Talk 14:05, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello, Do NOT back the page without any research! Did you read what I wrote? Do you understand Chinese letters? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Usagidot#March_2020 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Usagidot (talkcontribs) 15:58, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello, Usagidot. I've already replied on your talk page. I'm not backing any pages, I'm simply trying to help enforce Wikipedia's guidelines, which you violated. - Flori4nKT A L K 16:01, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

I don't understand why my edits were reverted for that article. Please go into depth why. I won't do anything about the edit, but I don't understand why it was undone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.24.210.141 (talk) 01:01, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

Seems like I checked your edit too fast. I thought you were adding unsourced possibly controversial information to the biography of a living person, while in reality it was a fictional character... I have undone my revert. - Flori4nKT A L K 02:14, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

Devil may cry reference warning.

I received your level 2 warning about forgetting to cite your references. How do I add the reference for the changes I made, cause I would like to have my warning removed as I don't want to get blocked. Ethernbeta25 (talk) 22:43, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello, Ethernbeta25.
Please visit WP:CITING if you would like to learn about properly citing sources.
Further, I'd like to note the following:
If your information is true, adding a sentence to the main article of Devil May Cry should suffice, in case that hasn't been done already.
Please don't replace "devil" with "monster" throughout the whole article.
Thanks for reaching out. - Flori4nKT A L K 22:51, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Regarding edits on Cabin fever

Hi, thanks for your remarks regarding my edits to Cabin Fever. I have responded on the Cabin fever talk page, we can discuss further there if you like. Hope you and yours are well. 2600:1700:17F1:8720:F1F0:504B:8FD2:3984 (talk) 17:22, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

  The Original Barnstar
Hi Flori4nk I like your edit's. Quick question did you like avengers endgame? cause I think i would have written a better script without all the unnecessary backtracking.
Ethernbeta25 (talk) 03:29, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
Hello Ethernbeta25.
Thanks for the Barnstar!
(I don't think my edits quite justify for me to receive one yet though)
To answer your question:
I haven't watched Endgame or any Marvel film yet, so I really don't know.

Brahamdagh Bugti's Article

It seems that you think that I haven't been neutral in this article but after the reference from theguardian It seems as if you are mistaken because there has been no attempts to assassinate him and neither is he being defamed. Also many countries including France have denied his request for asylum there must have been a reason for France to deny his request because Pakistan is not in a position to put pressure on either France or Switzerland to deny his request.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2010/nov/30/wikileaks-cables-afghan-pakistani-fugitive — Preceding unsigned comment added by 39.41.237.158 (talk) 16:45, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello 39.41.237.168.
I reverted your edit because the wording was less than neutral. The decisory factor was your usage of "hideous", however you are right: The previous editor's wording was very much inappropriate, which I did not notice, as I didn't look at it (dumb mistake, was undercaffeinated... sorry!).
Please consider removing or changing biased content, adding a maintenance tag or discussing this issue with the editors actively working on the article by adding a section to it's talk page.

Sark Islahat Raporu

Hi there, it is interesting that you engage in mainly deleting discussions and well here I am. What do you know about the (redirect to the) Sark Islahat Raporu? Do you know anything about Kurdish life? Turkish life? This Raporu is the core of Turkish/Kurdis Life!!! It is mentioned in numerous Turkish books. In different names, but yes, often the article Sark Islahat Raporu is connected with the 1925 Report for Reform in the East (Turkey). If you want to write a whole new article about the subject ou are very welcome. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 22:43, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello Paradise Chronicle.
You seem to be offended over nothing.
You created the article Şark İslahat Plani with the following content:
"1925 Report for Reform in the East (Turkey)"
I nominated it for deletion, as it only contains the above and provides no context.
You stated that it was a redirect. If you wanted to create a redirect to 1925 Report for Reform in the East (Turkey), then go ahead and just do that.
But maybe, just maybe you should have checked your page, which just contains the aforementioned and is not a redirect, before proclaiming that I was trying to delete a redirect which, and I'll just take your word for that, is of such importance.
You claim, that I mainly engage in deleting discussion and further state that it was "interesting".
May I ask: How have you come to that conclusion? How would that be "interesting"?
Regards. - Flori4nKT A L K 23:19, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
well, you have still only a few edits and to engage in deletion discussions mights need some more info and experience. Just check your historical.[1]
You don't have as much experience as to engage into a deletion discussion in a term that mainly exists for the Turkish language and isn't present in the Turkish wikipedia, otherwise you would praise such a subject. I tell you, this is a highly praised subject in Turkish politics. Many of the prominent politianas from Atatürks times were involved in this report or plani. Please give me some clear and reasonable info (with sources) to why you wanted to have the term "Sark Isalahat Raporu" deleted. I gave you several reasonable sources that tell you to desist from a deletion.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 23:56, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
My degree of participation in deletion discussions or a claim of a lack thereof is in no way contributing to this discussion and, in this context at least, irrelevant. Have you even read a single sentence of my reply? I have already given you a reason for the deletion nomination of Şark İslahat Plani. You say that I was trying to get "Sark Isalahat Raporu" deleted, but I haven't made a single edit to that page.
Please read my replies, re-review your reference[1] and think, before posting another repetitive answer.
Thank you. - Flori4nKT A L K 00:06, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
Well sorry, here I bring you the many sources about the Sark islahat Raporu, and here about your recent edits. They are often about speedy deletions. Ok, maybe only recently, but very often for a user for such a few edits. At least for my experience. Sark Islahat Raporu or Plani is a well known name, and this deletion request wouldn't even enter into the speedy deletion requirements as per WP:SPEEDY. Read the requirements, it doesn't enter.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 00:31, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
You mostly just repeated yourself again, I'll do the same:
The page I nominated for deletion is not a redirect like you said above. It is a page with just the phrase "1925 Report for Reform in the East (Turkey)". I never claimed that it was not notable. Yes, I realize I tagged it with the wrong criteria, but nonetheless it was eligible for deletion per A3. There still is no redirect. As you seem to have wanted to make it a redirect, why don't you just do so? Do you understand what I am saying? If you make it the redirect you claim it already is or make other changes I'll remove the speedy tag. Please read my replies... - Flori4nKT A L K 00:42, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
Hey friend, I have redirected the page! I thought it already was a redirect. :))) There!!! was the misunderstanding. With the best wishes. All the best. Sorry for the quarrels.. :))) Paradise Chronicle (talk) 01:10, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
It's OK. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! - Flori4nKT A L K 01:14, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Welcome to the GOCE!

Hello Flori4nK and welcome to the Guild of Copy Editors (GOCE)! We are glad that you have decided to help us in our mission to improve the quality of writing on the English Wikipedia! Here are some links that you might find helpful to get started on your copy-editing journey!

You can help with copy-editing requests if you already have familiarity with the MOS and considerable English copy-editing skills, or start with articles tagged for copy editing to gain experience.

Thank you so much for joining the GOCE, we appreciate it!

copyright violation vs open licensing

Hi there! You had marked the article Draft: Women's School for Planning and Architecture as a copyright violation. Happily, the source material is marked CC-BY (I put this in the references as well), which means that it can be used and re-used without a copyright violation under that open license. You're the second editor to mark this as a copyright violation -- I explained the situation to the previous editor and they reverted their complaint, but this is getting annoying. Do you have suggestions about how to help educate editors about open content and move this along? --Shockofsputnik (talk) 15:02, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

Ah, sorry about that. I've removed the speedy deletion tag.
The CC-BY notice should suffice (and I should've checked for it).

New page reviewer granted

Hi Flori4nK. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 21:00, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Edit of Demonstration Multipurpose School, Bhubaneswar

Dear Flori4nK, I don't think the text I edited was a violation of the neutrality guidelines of Wikipedia. That was a history of the school and fact. I request you to reconsider your decision. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaustuvray11 (talkcontribs) 04:30, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello Kaustuvray11.
I reverted your edit because of:
  • Neutrality issues: For example, calling someone "an outstanding leader and a committed politician" is less than neutral.
  • (Potential) Copyright issues: You copied the text from a web page.
Thanks for reaching out. - Flori4nKT A L K 09:17, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

GOCE June newsletter

Guild of Copy Editors June 2020 Newsletter

Hello and welcome to the June newsletter, a brief update of Guild activities since March 2020. You can unsubscribe from our mailings at any time; see below. All times and dates stated are in UTC.

Current events

Election time: Nomination of candidates in our mid-year Election of Coordinators opened on 1 June, and voting will take place from 00:01 on 16 June. GOCE coordinators normally serve a six-month term and are elected on an approval basis. Self-nominations are welcome. If you've thought about helping out at the Guild, or you know of another editor who would make a good coordinator, please consider standing for election or nominating them here.

June Blitz: This blitz begins at 00:01 on 14 June and ends at 23:59 on 20 June, with themes of articles tagged for copyedit in May 2020 and requests.

Drive and blitz reports

March Drive: Self-isolation from coronavirus may have played a hand in making this one of our most successful backlog elimination drives. The copy-editing backlog was reduced from 477 to a record low of 118 articles, a 75% reduction. The last four months of 2019 were cleared, reducing the backlog to three months. Fifty requests were also completed, and the total word count of copy-edited articles was 759,945. Of the 29 editors who signed up, 22 completed at least one copy edit. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

April Blitz: This blitz ran from 12 to 18 April with a theme of Indian military history. Of the 18 people who signed up, 14 copyedited at least one article. Participants claimed a total of 60 copyedits. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

May Drive: This event marked the 10th anniversary of the GOCE's copy-editing drives, and set a goal of diminishing the backlog to just one month of articles, as close to zero articles as possible. We achieved the goal of eliminating all articles that had been tagged prior to the start of the drive, for the first time in our history! Of the 51 editors who signed up, 43 copyedited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

Other news

Progress report: as of 2 June, GOCE participants had processed 328 requests since 1 January, which puts us on pace to exceed any previous year's number of requests. As of the end of the May drive, the backlog stood at just 156 articles, all tagged in May 2020.

Outreach: To mark the 10th anniversary of our first Backlog Elimination Drive, The Signpost contributor and GOCE participant Puddleglum2.0 interviewed project coordinators and copy-editors for the journal's April WikiProject Report. The Drive and the current Election of Coordinators have also been covered in The Signpost's May News and Notes page.

Thank you all again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve what we have without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators Jonesey95, Baffle gab1978, Reidgreg, Tdslk and Twofingered Typist.

To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list.

Move of Dokkumer Ee to Draft:Dokkumer Ee

Re: your message on my talk page: moving Dokkumer Ee to Draft:Dokkumer Ee leaves a redirect from the article space to the draft space, and that is less than ideal. I am reminded of this discussion in the Village Pump, which discusses this exact type of move. If I am reading that discussion correctly, there seems to be some consensus that such a move is somewhat inappropriate. Instead of moving the article to the draft space, I feel a request for citations to establish notability would have been more appropriate (I am now in the process of compiling appropriate sources). Cheers— Ealuscerwen (talk) 01:04, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
