Draft article edit

Hello. I noticed on your draft article Draft:Harry Fear, you had inserted the {{submit}} template code. However, that doesn't actually submit your draft for review. I've inserted the correct one if you would like to submit your draft, whenever you feel it is ready. Good luck. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 13:49, 4 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

December 2020 edit

Hello Engy Badawy, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 01:07, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Draft:Harry Fear, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Review Draft:Harry Fear edit

Can someone please review my article?

Engy Badawy (talk) 22:52, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have submitted it and it is pending review. As noted in the yellow box at the bottom, "This may take 3 months or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order. There are 3,463 pending submissions waiting for review." Reviews are conducted by a limited number of volunteers who do what they can when they can. You will need to continue to be patient. 331dot (talk) 23:01, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Muslim revert"? edit

Do you mean "Muslim convert"?

Wikipedia respects copyrights edit

Some of the text you added to Draft:Harry Fear was copied from this web site.

Unless the text on that web site has been released under a Wikipedia-compatible license or it is in the public domain, it cannot be used verbatim except in small quotations, with proper attribution. Even WP:Close paraphrasing is not allowed.

I have removed the text that was copied along with small amounts of text that surrounded it. I did preserve the references, putting them in a temporary section called "Orphaned references." This section will need to be removed before any future submission.

I have also asked an administrator to revision delete the historical edits. This should happen in the next few hours. Once it is done, only administrators and a few other privileged editors will be able to see the content of the old edits, but everyone will see the date, username, and time-stamp of all of the edits. The current edit and any future edits you make will remain unaffected.

To avoid problems in the future, please read WP:Copyright before editing the draft further. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:20, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for File:PRehm5Tp 400x400.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:PRehm5Tp 400x400.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 16:45, 13 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Gaza strip photographed by Harry Fear in 2013.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Gaza strip photographed by Harry Fear in 2013.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Your submission at Articles for creation: Harry Fear (March 26) edit

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Etzedek24 was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: I attempted to find other sources that might provide notability but found none. It is my belief that this would not survive a deletion discussion and thus am rejecting it as there is no way to assuage the notability concerns at this time.
