Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Draft:Edward Donnally. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 11:32, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

PLease do not remove declinature notices as you did at Draft:Edward Donnally. This disrupts the review procedure as the notices provide information for later reviewers. The deleted notices contained an invitation for you to clarify issues at the draft talk page and also a recommendation that the page should be considered for deletion if it was resubmitted. Removal could be considered as an attempt to circumvent the system which will not help your 'cause'. Please do not continue in this vein. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 15:23, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

About Draft:Edward Donnally

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Edward Donnally a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Edward Donnally. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. creffett (talk) 14:59, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
