Welcome edit

Hello, Dre.comandante, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Please help - many additions to WP Indonesia lack adequate WP:RS for WP:V and WP:N issues - please help add them to articles that you edit.

Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

There is a page about the verifiability policy that explains the policy in greater detail, and another that offers tips on the proper ways of citing sources. If you are stuck and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page.

Again, welcome!  SatuSuro 05:57, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ali Sastroamijoyo edit

It's a better picture. Where are you taking the images from? It would be better if you could state that on the Commons page, and I'm also curious. The images I have uploaded have mostly come from my collection of old Indonesian books, but if there are better images out there I'd be interested to know where. In particular I'm looking for the logo of the Partai Sosialis Indonesia. Regards. Davidelit (talk) 14:24, 21 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Hi. Unfortunately many of your images have been deleted from WikiCommons because you did not provide a source. This meant that articles such as Sukarno,‎ Mohammad Hatta , Kristiani Herawati, Ali Sastroamidjojo and Amir Sjarifuddin were all without pictures until I restored the earlier versions. Please can you make sure that you give sources for the images you upload to Commons. Thanks. Davidelit (talk) 15:31, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Creating articles about living people edit

License tagging for File:Wiranto.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Wiranto.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 24 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image permission problem with Image:Hasyim Muzadi.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Hasyim Muzadi.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 13:11, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: File:SusiloBambangYudhoyono.jpg edit

File:SusiloBambangYudhoyono.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:SusiloBambangYudhoyono.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:SusiloBambangYudhoyono.jpg]]. Orphaned non-free media (File:2009 Jakarta Bombings-Marriott Hotel.JPG) edit

Thanks for uploading File:2009 Jakarta Bombings-Marriott Hotel.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:05, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

PSI star edit

Hi, thanks for your edits on the Socialist Party of Indonesia article. However, are you sure about the colour of the star? The photos are all black-n-white, so it wouldn't be possible to judge the colour from them. --Soman (talk) 13:11, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

1938 FIFA World Cup Indonesian squad edit

Hi Dre! I've seen you've edited the Indonesian squad at the 1956 Olympics... I was wondering if you also have infos about the 1938 World Cup squad. It's extremely difficult to find data about those players and they usually differ from source to source. Thank you! --necronudist (talk) 12:39, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

FIFA is extremely unreliable... I think an expert is needed, with a good Indonesian newspapers' archive. Have you tried contacting PSSI? I think they know less than us, but...! I've read your article, via Google Translate... not bad :-) --necronudist (talk) 20:19, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup squads edit

The article 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup squads has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Indonesia's first match edit

Thanks for the query. I have added a section about the early days into the Indonesia national football team article which hopefully clarifies the position. Cheers. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:39, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

The real problem is that there is no definition of "Official" for this purpose; who says FIFA has more right to determine the status of a match than a local federation? The match against Singapaore is not listed on the RSSSF page for Singapore [2], so it was presumably not recognised as "Official" for them. (Nor is the match against "Australia" listed for them.[3]) That's why I ignored them in the list of "Official matches" and went with Elo. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 12:56, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is wp en edit

So why are we using http://bola.okezone.com as a source of spelling for Aceh? Just because a particular website uses the now unused spelling - is that a reason to move it? - I would have thought with pitiful limited range of WP:RS for any of the Indonesian soccer club material - that the naming of clubs should not be governed by any one website? I would appreciate a reply on this - thanks SatuSuro 13:22, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actually - please dont get me wrong on this - a lot of your other moves you have done recently are really good ones to sort out naming issues - but it is worth putting in the lead sentence the aka's or nicknames as well - what do you think? SatuSuro 13:27, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much for responding to my rather obtuse questions/comments - I appreciate seeing what you have done - it is just sometimes the whole lot of the articles and stubs seem to get out of hand (enthusiasts with their over-doing the articles with poor english and all) - maybe I should just watch - and not get involved that much - the aka's/nicknames arose from seeing the amount of moves from one name to the other over the last couple of weeks - sorry to have bothered SatuSuro 00:02, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:54, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
