Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Dotsone. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 21:30, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Lyla Fitzsimmons edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Lyla Fitzsimmons, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. creffett (talk) 23:47, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Request reason:

Hi, I'm trying to find out what is going on here? I have been blocked from editing and also had my daughters wiki draft turned down becuase of raesons 'self published books'. So now not only has she been turned down by publishers for being so young, she has now been turned down a wiki page because we have had to struggle and publish ourselves.!! Absolutly outrageous from society. I will be taking this further. And to block me because of advertising is ridiculous. I only told only facts on the Lyla Fitzsimmons page which is what i believe wiki is for? Dotsone (talk) 17:45, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

No, that is not what Wikipedia is for. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that summarizes what independent reliable sources state about article subjects that meet our special definition of notability.(in this case, that is defined at WP:NBOOK and WP:AUTHOR). Furthermore, you have a conflict of interest in editing about your daughter's book. If you want to write about subjects other than you daughter and her work, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 18:06, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Also be advised that legal threats are not permitted(re "take this further"). 331dot (talk) 18:09, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

(decline that was preempted by 331dot's} Just to echo what was already said. (I spent some time typing this. Hopefully it's worth reading.)I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you. The deleted page was clearly promotional. Please see User:dlohcierekim/g11 for links to more information about that. What's going on is Wikipedia is not a promotional venue for you to promote your daughter's books. I see that you attempted a previous promotional page, Danny Fitzsimmons. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia . Subjects of articles must meet notability requirements. Please see WP:ANYBIO. As to the books, if they are self published, they likely do not meet notability requirements as well. As you have a conflict of interest, it would be best for you to not write about people you know, your children, or any other subject with which you have an off-Wiki connection. As your only purpose in editing Wikipedia is promotion, I cannot unblock you. And if "taking this further" is some form of legal threat, that is certainly your prerogative, but you cannot be unblocked if it is-- please see WP:NLT.-- Dlohcierekim 18:26, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

As if "taking it further" was a legal thraet! It was just meant i will be trying to contact someone higher than you absolute jobsworths. You really are a bunch of sados. Hope you all get a great kick out of deciding on other peoples pages. Dotsone (talk) 18:54, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Abusive unblock requests are not considered. See WP:No personal attacks. Also, there is no one "higher" than administrators who would review your unblock request. Huon (talk) 18:59, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
