Hi - thanks for your message. I've always linked every independent - and, in most cases, there are one or two at most, so it's not a great issue. I do prefer to have them all linked, as that seems most likely to avoid any potential confusion and get consistency although, as you say, it can get rather repetitive in cases such as Luton South. New Scottish constituencies and regions

We should really start the new articles ASAP, now that the final Boundary Commission version is clear. However, I personally have no great desire to pump hours of my time into creating 73 stubs (+ the new region stubs).

I recommend that we draw up a quick template, with perhaps only a couple of lines of actual text, but with standard Ref, See also, and Ext link sections, and just get the ball rolling. Let other editors fill them out a bit as desired.--Mais oui! (talk) 05:06, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Notional results

Hi Doktorbuk. You're right, notionals are guesswork, but they have to be used. The Rochdale constituency which exists now is not the same one which existed last month: it may share its name and most of its area, but it's a different creation. I have. And whilst I understand the issue, I am not going to go out of my way to follow the rule, tbh. When I talk about "having a bit of a Wiki addiction", more people than not will immediately think of this place. Page titles

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Dundee East (Scottish Parliament constituency) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Dundee City East (Scottish Parliament constituency). This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. 2010 electorate figures

I saw your comment on Mirrorme22's excellent work in adding the 2010 electorate figures - which has largely saved me a job so great. I don't know whether you saw the discussion between BHG and myself regarding these figures a few weeks ago and how I wanted to add them in to List of United Kingdom Parliament constituencies as a separate column from the already existing December 2000 figure, so that the reader can see the figures which brought about the current lot of constituencies, and the ones which will create the new lot. (At this point I inferred that BHG would rather drop the 2000 figures, but I may be wrong).

Given you have created the Sixth_Periodic_Review_of_Westminster_constituencies page I would have thought only the new constituencies and theor electorates would go in there, but I'm not sure of how you are planning. Thoughts? I know the discussion needs to go on WT:UKPC before I do anything, but your ideas are key here I believe. I was going to wait, but we now have all the constituency articles out of line with the list, which I would like to resolve sooner rather than later.

WikiProject United States Government

Greetings. I noticed that you are one of the members of WikiProject United States Government that are still active so I wanted to ask you a question. It appears that this project is mostly inactive aside from what the members might be doing independently. I was considering suggesting that this project be pulled in under WikiProject United States and wanted to solicit comments from some of this projects members before doing so. As with Washington DC and the others the project would for the most part maintain its own independence but I believe this would benefit both projects. Protection of Freedom

Thanks. You've answered my question. You need only state that this rule benefits private companies. Note that these discussions are happening on forums all the time. There are cases where parking companies go after registered keepers with threatograms from debt collectors and these in turn are in the wake of the driver having denied the debt in writing (so not technically appealing) but at the same time, where the keeper has admitted driving. It is not only "locating the driver" when the keeper refuses to divulge the information that stops private companies taking the case to court but also: with the whole affair of contracts being governed by Contract Law, the private parking company needs to satisfy the courts that the money they seek is purely to compensate for actual losses in line with the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and not to make a profit. The lead could do with a summary of the fact that major disruption will occur in some parts of the country (e.g. see the Democratic Audit paper on London.) There should be a discussion about how to deal with the release of the reports especially if the whole of England is published on one day. Maybe the discussion belongs at the UK Constituencies project although that doesn't seem to see much activity. Further talk on the article talk page?
