Hi there! I noticed you've created a new page at: Draft:Steven A. Beebe, however this does not conform to proper naming conventions and would be more appropriate within your own user space, especially considering there is little to no content in the article. I would suggest copying the page to User:Djgriffin7/Steven_A._Beebe. Thanks! -- MacAddct1984 (talkcontribs) 17:01, 4 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

So I just want to apologize/correct what I said; apparently Drafts: is a proper namespace. I had no idea it came about at the beginning of last month -- MacAddct1984 (talk • contribs) 15:01, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia jargon edit

Hi there. I saw your query here as to what a "sock issue" is. On Wikipedia, it refers to sockpuppetry ("socking" for short), i.e., when one person is editing under multiple account names and pretending to be a different, or multiply different editors. The account names used by the person are referred to as "sockpuppets" ("socks" for short). This obviously wasn't the case with your class, although the original editor was at first puzzled at what was going on and wondered if it might be a case of socking. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 18:10, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the reply and clarification. That makes sense - and since I am going to have my summer class work on editing and creating pages for communication professors I will make sure to follow the advice of the folks on the editor talk page who directed me to the educational resources. Hi. :) As an administrator on Wikipedia, one of the areas I work is copyright investigations. Your students' draft at User:Djgriffin7/Loren D. Reid was listed for review, and I stopped to look it over to be sure that the paraphrasing was acceptable. I was drawn into Dr. Reid's story and started to prepare it for publication myself, since I think it should be in the encyclopedia, but after realizing that it was a student project stopped. I hope you will encourage them to finish this. If they are not going to, please let me know, and I'll continue. He seems to have been a fascinating man. If they're still in your class, can you please tell them that I enjoyed learning about him from their work? Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:55, 10 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your note. It is polished and now in article space at Loren Reid. :) I appreciate their contribution! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:28, 11 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Monarch Espresso Bar edit

Hello Djgriffin7,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Monarch Espresso Bar for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Proposed deletion of DeafVideo.tv edit

The article DeafVideo.tv has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Just passing mentions, 404, and a WordPress blog. The sources don't seem to be there for this one, despite its noble cause

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
