GA-nomination Request
Bruin2 has asked to have John Ross (Cherokee chief) GA-nominated again, but I am not really familiar with the process and since you had done so for the Oklahoma House of Representatives article, I thought you might consider putting in this request. Stub deletion
I am noticing a lot of stubs in our project that our highly likely to never grow further, such as Brenda Reneau. I'm not very familiar with article deletions. It seems like it is difficult to get people to weigh in to help complete the process. I thought we might work together to get a few of these deleted, starting with the above-mentioned article. - Ok Well the first thing that needs to be done is we need to go over the list of stubs and see if any of them meet the Notability guidelines and if there is any chance that the could be expanded. - Hi Okheric,
- I concur with both you and Dcheagle about going over the list of WP:Oklahoma stubs, and would like to help.. The example you cite certainly doesn't address the notability requirement very well. In such cases, I would post on the article talk page that it is being considered for deletion. This would be a heads up to the original author or anyone else that is really interested in the subject to add more relevant information. After a short period, say two weeks, then proceed with deletion process. Sometimes people start an article then get sidetracked on something else.
- I have been pursuing stubs about several topics in WP:Oklahoma, especially counties, cities, and some general topics for this very reason. Usually I avoid the people articles unless I happen to know something about the subject, or it fits with another topic that I have worked on. Not a very scientific process, but hopefully will help get us to the same end point. Bruin2 (talk) 01:14, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
- I cited the Notability guidelines as a base line for determining what can stay and be expanded and what just needs to be deleted because if its not notable and doesn't meet the baseline requirements then there's no need to try to keep and expand it in the first place.

- I was also able to expand Brenda Reneau. I did a Newsok.com search for her and found some stories. The article is still a stub, but at least not so pathetically tiny. I also added an infobox. Okheric (talk) 18:22, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
- After looking over the stubs, most if not all just need to be expanded. I think only a hand full will need to be deleted. So its just a matter of slowly expanding these stubs. Removed notability tag on Mareta West and expanded article. I also removed the notability tag for an OU head coach, though the article was scarce. About 5 articles remain tagged. Okheric (talk) 19:53, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Tables and prose
Hi Dcheagle,
It appears that you are closely following the tables vs. prose style guide when editing articles, however other contributor finds tables more readable. It was discussed here and there.
At one of the articles, your interaction involved 9 undos of edits by Kobra98.
As he/she came to Live Chat to ask for help, I would like to encourage that:
- Question is opened at the relevant wikiproject talk page about pertinence of tables in such context. (It is his task. I have asked him/her to do it.)
- No further edits in this direction are made, not by you and not by Kobra98.
- After community agreement is reached, it is followed.
In general, I would like to encourage that in general we all
- Don't resort to FA and other article statuses when choosing how to write them, or justifying our actions. The articles should be better, and these statuses are irrelevant to the intermediate work. (Goal of "having written or contributed to as many FA/GA/etc articles as possible" is, in my view, disastrous.) While you may advertise it on your page, I'm very positive that it is not relevant to discussion of how to write an article better.
- Don't use edit summaries to talk to other contributors. When we realize we're putting more information in edit summary than a summary of the edit, start a discussion.
- Be very very passive about removing accurate information from an article where you think it's not styled properly. Edit war barrier is not 3 here, it is 1 — styling is a much much less urgent matter than content. (I observed that both you and the other contributor removed accurate sourced content due to preference of different way to put it.)

NFL Draft section consensus
I and three other users discussed the issue of table vs. prose (unlike you did before your changes) on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject College football#NFL Draft, and we came to a consensus that a table looks better in this situation, or at least a table with a short paragraph accompanying it. I'm changing it back for the FINAL time, and if you revert my edits, I'm reporting you for vandalism. Also, that thing you keep referencing (I believe it was Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Embedded lists) doesn't even apply to this situation, because it's referring to things that can be explained in more detail with prose. A simple "he was drafted by this team, this round, this pick" type of thing can easily be explained in a table. Kobra98 (talk) 00:23, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

- Allow for the presence of a table in such context, if someone wants to add one.

B12 national team titles
Why did you revert my changes to the B12 national team titles? It is consistent with the other 5 Conferences. If you click on the School nickname, you can see the details for each school. Please let me know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paulmec (talk • contribs)
- Manly your format, there is nothing wrong with the current format of the sections. And because your additions to the Oklahoma Sooners just added more of the same thing that's already listed, there's no need to list the same championships on the page twice. The Conference page that I added is consistent with the other major conferences, which includes the following features that the current page did not have: 1. Breaks out the men's and women's totals as separate columns. 2. Allows columns to be sorted. 3. Has individual team links to show the details for each school, which must add up to the conference page. 4. Has link to list of schools with the most NCAA Division 1 team championships. These numbers should be consistent with each of the conferences. 5. Reference to the NCAA Website that has the official totals for each school.
I think that you are only looking at the Big 12 page and should take a look at the other conferences, please? {{User talk:{Paulmec|Paulmec}}
OKC Barons fold vs. relocate
You reverted an edit I made on the American Hockey League page. Is there a reason or recent article that cites the Barons as still folding vs. just relocating the franchise? What I have found is they announced in December they were folding then on January 29 both the AHL, the Oilers, and the Condors released press releases stating it as a franchise move. They all say the same thing but all organizations involved haven't stated otherwise since. In my opinion, this designates it as a relocation the same as Adirondack, Norfolk, Manchester, and Worcester. I will leave it as is for now as the only facts are that OKC was going to fold in 2015 regardless of the formation of Pacific Division. Yosemiter (talk) 21:47, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
- I list them as folding as that's what the ownership group (Prodigal, LLC) has said. The Barons are affiliated with the Oilers with an affiliation agreement which ends at end of this season, that agreement from what I understand about stats that the Oilers own the name of the team, color, etc but that Prodigal owns the team and manages the day to day ops--Dcheagle • talk • contribs 22:03, 18 February 2015 (UTC).
- I am not disagreeing with the Barons folding per se as I am only trying to keep the AHL page simplified. The Oilers took over the Barons franchise upon Prodigal's decision to fold the team, and then the Oilers moved their franchise rights to Bakersfield. - I guess this is just a difference of opinions, but typically the League in which a team plays refers to franchise history and not ownership history. Owners and teams fold all the time, but league histories refer to franchise histories (in this case the franchise license with the AHL is and has always been owned by the Oilers). It just seems odd to single out OKC as a folding team when the AHL press releases only care about what the franchise is doing. On another note that may not reflect a "new" team, all the two-way contract Oilers players and the Barons coaching staff that has contracts with the Oilers will be in Bakersfield next year (unless they are released or fired). Bottom line for me - in five or ten years when this is old news will it be looked upon as an expansion team or a relocated franchise, other old team articles seem to focus on the latter.
