Mineral infoboxes

Hi and thanks for your work on new mineral articles. As you probably noticed, I've combined the Mindat refs in the infobox for Bobfergusonite into a ref at the end as most of the data was from mindat and individual refs for each item seemed a bit much. I usually collect refs for infobox data at the end and only ref specific items when sources disagree. Vsmith (talk) 22:50, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

I agree that it is a good idea. For that particular article, each source was very similar in coverage so there wasn't much mixing of references like some others I have written. Excessive referencing is better than no referencing. Chris857 (talk) 22:54, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I noticed you tagged a new article for a maintenance issue. please consider checking the references and claims, looking for more WP:Reliable sources and tagging for deletion if and as appropriate. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:02, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Elaphone

Hi. Sorry, but you can't rePROD an article where the user has dePRODed without addressing the issue(s). If you still feel the article should be deleted, then take it to AfD (which is what I would probably do with this now). Please take care to review the article history when tagging articles, and see also WP:BEFORE. My original PROD concern was: Unreferenced, and no WP:Reliable sources to be found that clearly assert notability for this recently created, yet-to-be established new musical instrument. Fails WP:GNG. 'Made up in a day' , doesn't cut it - this is clearly a good faith article attempt, even if it will ultimately get deleted. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:07, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

I didn't realize that it had been proded previously. Chris857 (talk) 19:28, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Ginn's Furniture Store

Just curious — what would need to be improved for this to warrant a C rating? Nyttend (talk) 00:51, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

I don't really assess articles as C-class much, I tend to tag articles as stub or start so that they have a rating. You'd probably want to ask someone at wp:NRHP to assess more thoroughly. Chris857 (talk) 00:55, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Impulse control disorder

Hello! I have a request for you kindly! I saw you are one of the DYK volunteers. Actually, I have an article under DYK nimination and it hasn't been nominated yet. I could have definitely waited, only that it's for a school project and the class is almost to an end, so I really wished it could go on for the DYK status asap. The article is "Impulse control disorder" nominated on August 8th. I would understand if you think I shouldn't be trying to push my article further this way, but I would really appreciate if you kindly do. Thank you very much for reading!! Regards. Zoono92 (talk) 00:19, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

When does your class end? Medicine/Psychology articles aren't my area of interest or knowledge, but I will review some of the other aspects and ask if anyone at dyk is focused in this area. Chris857 (talk) 03:35, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
My class ends by the end of this week so kinda need to have everything done by then. I would really really appreciate it if you could find someone for it, That would be very kind and helpful! I saw you did review it as well =) Thank you LOADS! :D Zoono92 (talk) 06:50, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Note re: Handbook

Just did a minor fix to Collinsite and noted the "fl" in fluoroapetite was fluoroapatite was odd, Handbook of Mineralogy pdfs often contain such "odd characters". Also the Carbonatian... per Mindat is an outdated term for carbonate rich. I had never heard it before. Keep on truckin... Vsmith (talk) 14:08, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Dear Chris857, You looked at Template:Did_you_know_nominations/Yad_Kennedy when I first posted it, just to make a small technical correction (bolding the article title). Since then, no one has reviewed it for the DYK nomination! If you have a chance, could you look at it again to consider reviewing it for the DYK nomination? Thanks! WP:DYKSTATS

I appreciate your hard work on adding entries into statistics list. However, because entries from 16:00 ~ 00:00 (UTC) tend to have two-day growths, I recommend next time that you wait until the day after the next. In other words, if one appeared on Monday until midnight (UTC), then let's wait until Tuesday stats are added on Wednesday (UTC). --George Ho (talk) 19:01, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Hand-coding

Hey all :).

I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyes wikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).

If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:25, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank you!

I want to express my appreciation for your having taken the time to clean up the new article I recently created on the subject Ryan Collinson, a young English actor. Although I have made several fairly simple edits on Wikipedia, this is my first attempt at creating a new article. I tried to copy what was done with similar articles, but I knew the references were not done as they should be.

Aside from being a bit of a theater buff, I have no particular interest in this subject. I stumbled across his performance as Billy Elliot on You Tube and thought he was fantastic, so I was curious. I was surprised to find he didn’t have a Wiki article as did several of his peers in the role, so I thought it would be a good starter article for me to attempt, being a stub at this point due to the subject’s young age.

I would like to shortly add an external links section, so maybe tomorrow you can check back and make any adjustments required, though I shall endeavor to copy what others have done when adding such a section. This is a learning process to be sure. I take some pride in creating this article as I feel confident it will be continually expanded with time as this most talented young performer advances in his professional endeavors. He got his start in entertainment with Billy Elliot, but his start on Wikipedia with me! (G)

Thanks again, Chris. You’re a credit to Wiki and your time and counsel is most appreciated!HistoryBuff14 (talk) 16:40, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Italian Hall

I noticed the article on the main page. I'm commenting because I'm impressed with your great job of finding photos for a demolished site! I was starting to look if I had any photographs from my trips to BEAUTIFUL Calumet but I wasn't photographing in 1984. Nice job! Royalbroil 03:55, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

It wasn't too difficult, between Michigan Tech and various online newspaper archives. What I still want is a picture or video of its demolition (both exist), but finding properly licensed or PD content from 1984 is hard. Chris857 (talk) 04:07, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
