Today with Pat Kenny

Ah hello. I've just noticed that Today with Pat Kenny is no longer a red link in any of the articles I carefully placed it in (mind you, it has been there long enough) so I thought I'd come along to thank the creator. :) As the person who began articles on his rival shows at RTÉ 2fm and Today FM, it is nice to see someone else working on a new Irish radio programme. Saved me some work, although I'll probably find ways to add to it as well. To think it was nearly deleted were it not for the intervention of Flowerpotman... --candle•wicke 23:32, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Absolutely. There are endless possibilities. It depends on your interests, although I often do shows that I don't have a huge amount of interest in. I recently created a template to keep the many You're a Star articles together; since it has finished it appears to have been forgotten about entirely. Lots of red links there and the main series article is a mess. For television programmes there are loads to choose from in the RTÉ archives. Some have articles in various states of disarray (especially those I haven't had the chance to improve yet), some don't have any articles at all. It is best to have some independent sources as well for each programme; these might be found on the sites of newspapers such as The Irish Times, Irish Examiner, Irish Independent, Evening Herald (the last two are usually good for TV). You can get lots of additional information there. And then if you get it as far as 1500 characters within five days (and if it has an interesting fact) it can be nominated for Template:Did you know where it might end up on the Main Page. If you were looking for something massive then there's The Late Late Show, an awful mess as well yet nobody ever seems to work on it very much. It has a habit of getting out of control, with people adding completely random facts without a source. Nobody has ever asked with any great enthusiasm about helping with radio and television before so this is good to see! :) --candle•wicke 21:04, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Images uploaded of RTÉ Performing Groups

Hi there.

Thank you for informing me that I have to provide proof that I have been given permission to uploaded the RTÉ Performing Groups. I was in contact with a PR Executive in RTÉ Performing Groups via email. I have forwarded those emails on to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, but have heard nothing back. What do you suggest I do?

Oh excellent - can you convince them to put more information from their older radio and television programme archives online? :) Tubridy fan? The Full Irish needs expanding and actual sources before someone tries to delete it. Since you do Radio 1 shows and have created this, you could do the Radio 1 equivalent of Template:2fm... I meant to do that last year as well but got distracted by the fact that there's so much to do... lots of missing articles to be found on Template:Today FM too, specifically some of the more long-term presenters, who ought to have sources online somewhere, and Mario Rosenstock needs more sources as well... I see some of the articles on the radio templates don't have the templates on their pages as well... have you nominated any new creations or significant expansions for DYK? --candle•wicke 22:42, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
