Draft:Stephen Binuomoyo Adewumi

Hello I have updated the inline citation as requested however regarding my ISBN link for Stephen Binuomoyo Adewumi's biblography you claim the ISBN 9789783614314 as stated in your comment ( The ISBN code of The facts and the legend of Al-Hajj Jimo Akitola Odutola: the pioneer and pacesetter doesn't appear to be valid. The cite book templates appear to be broken and please fix it as well). The ISBN number when goggled did bring up the correct source - Title, The facts and the legend of Al-Hajj Jimo Akitola Odutola: the pioneer and pacesetter. Author, T. G. O. Gbadamosi. Published, 2005. ISBN, 97836143 so l am not entirely sure why you made such comment — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muyiwa71 (talkcontribs) 19:19, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

I'm guessing that was a huggle error. Please let me know if you see things otherwise. best. --Checkpoint inhibitor (talk) 20:19, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi. At the time I reviewed your submission, the ISBN was indeed invalid (click here). However, you have fixed it afterwards. See Template:Cite book for instructions. Abelmoschus Esculentus talk / contribs 01:10, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

DawidJPieterse (talk) 05:48, 31 December 2018 (UTC) Draft:PROPOSED TEST PROTOCOLS, GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO MEASURE, TRACK, DETERMINE AND EVALUATE DIESEL FUEL CONSUMPTION, EFFICIENCY AND ECONOMY

I have used information from other sources but have provided the link so that reader can find the original source.

@DawidJPieterse: Please do not directly copy and paste from sources. Here are some things you should keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright violation.
  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. AjaxRollback

Hello, happy New Year! I was looking at your AjaxRollback userscript hoping to use it for myself—with slight modifications, if that's fine with you—and I was a bit confused by this code: loadPageData(); at line 14 and 18; I don't see this function being defined locally or globally, and I cannot find any script that does so either. Any help? —RainFall 08:55, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

@RainFall: Hi and wish you a happy New Year as well! I modified this from User:BenjaminWillJS/AjaxRollback.js and didn't notice it. Yes you're right, there's no function called loadPageData. I'll remove that in a second (but anyway it won't cause any damage if I leave it alone). Thanks for notifying me and feel free to modify it. Administrators' newsletter – January 2019

News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2018).

  Guideline and policy news

  1. G14 (new): Disambiguation pages that disambiguate only zero or one existing pages are now covered under the new G14 criterion (discussion). This is {{db-disambig}}; the text is unchanged and candidates may be found in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as unnecessary disambiguation pages.
  2. R4 (new): Redirects in the file namespace (and no file links) that have the same name as a file or redirect at Commons are now covered under the new R4 criterion (discussion). This is {{db-redircom}}; the text is unchanged.
  3. G13 (expanded): Userspace drafts containing only the default Article Wizard text are now covered under G13 along with other drafts (discussion). Such blank drafts are now eligible after six months rather than one year, and taggers continue to use {{db-blankdraft}}.

  Technical news

  • Starting on December 13, the Wikimedia Foundation security team implemented new password policy and requirements. Privileged accounts (administrators, bureaucrats, checkusers, oversighters, interface administrators, bots, edit filter managers/helpers, template editors, et al.) must have a password at least 10 characters in length. All accounts must have a password:
  1. At least 8 characters in length
  2. Not in the 100,000 most popular passwords (defined by the Password Blacklist library)
  3. Different from their username
User accounts not meeting these requirements will be prompted to update their password accordingly. More information is available on MediaWiki.org.
  • Blocked administrators may now block the administrator that blocked them. This was done to mitigate the possibility that a compromised administrator account would block all other active administrators, complementing the removal of the ability to unblock oneself outside of self-imposed blocks. A request for comment is currently in progress to determine whether the blocking policy should be updated regarding this change.
  • {{Copyvio-revdel}} now has a link to open the history with the RevDel checkboxes already filled in.

  Arbitration

  Miscellaneous

  • Accounts continue to be compromised on a regular basis. Evidence shows this is entirely due to the accounts having the same password that was used on another website that suffered a data breach. If you have ever used your current password on any other website, you should change it immediately.
  • Around 22% of admins have enabled two-factor authentication, up from 20% in June 2018. If you haven't already enabled it, please consider doing so. Regardless of whether you use 2FA, please practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.

AfC notices

Am not certain why it comes up with undefined messages, am using the AFCH v0.9.1 tool and using the drop down menu but when it posts to the user's page it is coming with reason undefined. If you look I almost always post a comment on the draft article's page giving my reasoning behind why I feel it doesn't comply with WP policies/standards. Dan arndt (talk) 08:26, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

This is probably a script bug. @Enterprisey: Can you please add a "the comment left by the reviewer was ..." in the reject notice in AFCH script? Thanks Abelmoschus Esculentus talk / contribs 08:29, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
