Disambiguation pages

edit

Please note that disambiguation pages like Kikai are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add an entry if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory
  • Do not add articles to acronym or initials disambiguation pages unless the person or entity is widely known by that name (in which case it should be stated in the linked article).

Thank you. Leschnei (talk) 22:09, 24 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Anomaly Unisex given names

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Anomaly Unisex given names requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Arisa (given name), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alisa (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Myrin TV

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Myrin TV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Fire Robo moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Fire Robo, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – Thjarkur (talk) 16:48, 2 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

서덕민, please read this

edit

To edit English Wikipedia, it is necessary to be able to write in English well enough to be understood. Perfect English is not needed, but if it is not possible to guess what someone means, there is a real problem. Unfortunately, that is often true about your contributions. The article Mamono (which has now been moved to Draft:Mamono) for instance has a lot of text that is simply impossible to understand. Are you using computer translations? Those can sometimes be helpful for understanding a text, but never for writing a new text. Maybe that is why you are also adding incorrect information sometimes, such as here. Please do not ever use computer translated text in articles. If your English is not strong enough to write in a way that others can understand, it would be better for you to contribute in a Wikipedia version in your native language. All language versions of Wikipedia need more people to work on them.

There are two other very important issues. First, you must start adding sources when you add information to articles. There is more information about that above. Second, please respond to this message to show that you have seen it. You have not ever posted to your user talk page or any other talk pages, and because of that it is hard to know if you are at all aware of the problems. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 10:59, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Agatha (given name).

That names in different languages are similar does NOT mean that they have to be the same name. If you do not have a source that says that two names in different languages are the same, you can not add that information. bonadea contributions talk 14:32, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sigh. They've decided to ignore warnings again? I am appalled that they weren't blocked the last time. So much for AGF..... this Korean editor is a lost cause. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 14:55, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Don’t worry about it. Nothing in that edit is blockable. It just needs a good source.AdamF in MO (talk) 17:48, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

You can't actually source something that is incorrect, though. The Japanese family name "県" has no relationship with the first name "Agatha", except for a similar pronunciation. --bonadea contributions talk 19:23, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
It's hilarious how Adam is willing to defend a literal mute on the false assumption that they're editing in good faith. IDHT alone proves that they obviously *cannot* be editing in good faith. It's just so obvious. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 19:34, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

What this user needs is a block to get their attention. —AdamF in MO (talk) 20:11, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Okay, then why wasn't Seo blocked when I reported them on ANI? Because you, and some others tried to argue in their defense that they weren't disrupting the project. Now you're telling me that a block is warranted? Are you kidding me? Can you make up your mind? --Sk8erPrince (talk) 20:21, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
They need a block just to get their attention and bring them to the table. Honest people change as a situation develops. —AdamF in MO (talk) 20:27, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Adamfinmo, with all due respect, despite Seo being warned numerous times, and had an ANI thread that lasted for a week, they had no response. Nothing. Nil. Zero. What makes you think a temporary block is going to change that? --Sk8erPrince (talk) 20:56, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
User:Sk8erPrince - 서덕민 wasn't blocked because you blatantly lied and exaggerated about their edits, with false claims of vandalism and trolling. With your history of [[WP:BITE]ing, sock-puppetry, and unacceptable battle-ground behaviour, you need to simply stick to the facts. It's no wonder that the user is ignoring stuff, when so much incivility has been spread his way. Why not speak politely and welcome new users, instead of posting stark exaggerated warning templates. Your IDHT behaviour on this project is unacceptable! Nfitz (talk) 23:22, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Okay, why don't you just shut up and stop whiteknighting a literal mute? I've had enough with your bullcrap. *I'm* engaging in IDHT? Are you freaking serious? I usually try to respond as quickly as I could. And what the hell does sockpuppetry even have to do with this case? Are you just spouting textual garbage because you can? How about you stop speaking for Seo and let them speak for themselves?

The fact is, Seo is an incompetent timesink that can't contribute in fluent English to save their life. There. You happy? You also seem to like to ignore the fact that two more editors, Bonadea and Jesse Rafe, respectively, have pointed that they too have issues with Seo's disruptive editing. I am *never* going to welcome an incompetent IDHT timesink that opts to ignore any and all warnings they receive. Good faith is reserved for the competent, not mutes. In my 7 years of editing on Wikipedia, I have *never* seen a registered user that deliberately ignores other people. It's like we don't even exist, and they're just editing in their own little world. They don't seem to recognize the fact that this is a community.

For the last time, stop defending mutes that don't abide by our guidelines. Wake up. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 23:33, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

I was defending nothing on this page - I was simply pointing out why they weren't blocked (though the longer they continue similar edits without communicating, then a block does become more likely). Nothing justifies your poor behaviour and blatantly lying about vandalism and trolling, and exaggerating that poor English is "complete nonsense". Please remain WP:CIVIL and always WP:AGF. I'm not sure about the use of "mute" - given it's often used a slur - that's not what you mean here ... but I still ponder the appropriateness of it; can you use more neutral language? Thanks! Nfitz (talk) 00:09, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
When I said "mute", I meant *exactly* what I said - quoting the dictionary definition: A person lacking the faculty of speech. Not *once* has Seo tried to communicate. Calling out incompetent users for downgrading the quality of the project is *not* poor behavior. There are no lies. Whiteknights like you need to give it a rest and let the accused speak for themselves. You're not giving them the opportunity to self-defend. What's your problem? Why are you so hellbent in protecting this ESL timesink? What do you gain from doing so?
I will *not* AGF towards mutes. People that don't wanna listen don't deserve the courtesy of AGF. Since it's clear that Seo has been ignoring us for all this time, the only faith that I will be assuming is bad faith. They have shown literally *no* understanding that what they're doing is ruining the project. Go on, tell me that I am wrong. I know I am not. People that refuse to communicate will have their editing privileges taken away.
I am not convinced that a short term block will change this behavior. We could try and implement a short term block, but I am 100% convinced that this behavior will continue unless Seo starts communicating. If not, then an indef block is inevitable, given their unconstructive and IDHT editing history. A few short term blocks would occur first before that happens; it's just a matter of time. Count on it. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 07:05, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
How do you know User:Sk8erPrince that they lack vocal chords, and don't have the capacity of speech? You must AGF. Nfitz (talk) 14:42, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Nfitz:, @Sk8erPrince:, @Adamfinmo:: Please have this conversation anywhere but here. It seems two of you have prior issues with the third of you, and that clouded your assessment of the situation at the ANI. I respectfully ask that all three of you abstain from further conversation about a third party editor on the talk page of User:서덕민. There are serious problems with 서덕민's behavior and we do not need to also discuss anyone else's in this place. I don't mean this to take sides or suggest anyone is doing anything wrong either in their contributions to this user talk or in WP in general, this is just not the place for it and it can only impede any progress on addressing this user's behavior. Thanks! JesseRafe (talk) 15:00, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

User:JesseRafe I had no prior issue, or communication I can recall, with Sk8erPrince - everything falls out of their false accusations about 서덕민. Though this entire discussion is now moot, given that the announcement that Sk8erPrince has just been banned from Wikipedia for harrassment - see Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Noticeboard#Sk8erPrince banned. Nfitz (talk)
How much clearer do I have to be? Please contain your comments to 서덕민's edits and behavior, not Ska8erPrince's, on this space. Thank you! JesseRafe (talk) 15:42, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Which doesn't preclude me correcting your claim that there was prior issues - there wasn't even prior contact! It's also okay to point out when a user like Sk8erPrince is making false accusations and exaggerations. There's no doubt though, that 서덕민 needs to start adding citations, especially when they create new articles that may be controversial! I don't think anything further need be said here. Nfitz (talk) 15:58, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
"seems like" I don't care about your issues with SP, please do not make any more comments on this talk page about anything other than 서덕민's behavior! Unreal... JesseRafe (talk) 16:25, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I just said that 서덕민 needs to start adding citations. That's the bottom line, and nothing more need be said. Nfitz (talk) 17:06, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your behavior is still disruptive, please respond

edit

You just came out of a block and created a page called An-na with no worthwhile content that was effectively deleted by Discospinster. Then, you added wikilinks to non-articles at Viet comics while making those redlinks redirects to the same page, which is something we generally avoid. Then, you added this complete non-sentence at Arisa, a page you've edited frequently and often been undone.

This is problematic because you are making more work for others who want to have a presentable, readable, and well-sourced encyclopedia. This is exacerbated by the fact that you don't write in English very well, and you have not once communicated to others either on a user or article talk page about your edits and why people have to keep undoing them. You just came out of a 72 hour block for adding unsourced information, and, unless you correct your disruptive behavior, it is likely your next block will be longer. I don't doubt your good intentions, but WP:CIR is a rule, as is the need for dialogue when called out for various violations of MOS/OR/Synth, etc. JesseRafe (talk) 14:30, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Miniforce

Hello 서덕민,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Miniforce for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
