The "Books and Writers" website (aka kirjasto.sci.fi or Pegasos or Author's Calendar) has quality biographies and bibliographies. Over the years, it has been linked to in 579 articles as inline citations and/or external links. Around March 2015 the site went offline ("host not found"). This created WP:dead links. Fortunately the Wayback Machine has archives (for now -- the owner could theoretically have them removed by way of a robots.txt). The last good Wayback capture was on February 10 2015.

There are 1170 biographies at Books and Writers (full list).

The site was hosted by the Kuusankoski Public Library in Finland and authored by Petri Liukkonen. It was published with a Creative Commons license non-commercial, non-derivative, attribution. The text thus can't be used directly on Wikipedia, but it can be legally republished on the web and linked to from Wikipedia.

Update The site came back online at a new domain http://authorscalendar.info - some of the entries from the old site may not have been copied to the new in which case backups can be found in this GitHub archive.
