Renaming of template edit

When creating this template and the accompanying Lua module, I planned for Module:Team roster navbox to be the reusable component across leagues. I intended to one day extend the module to support a configuration parameter that would point to a Lua data page containing league-specific information, such as the colours to use in the navbox. Thus each separate league could have their own navbox that would use the module. So while I appreciate the desire to generalize this template, the net result is that some day in the future I may recreate an MLB roster navbox, which would call the Lua module with an MLB-specific configuration parameter. isaacl (talk) 23:38, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree that this template should either be generalised (to cover nowrapping of any list) or made more specific (just for adding colours for teams in a particular league). currently, all it does is add some non-breaking spaces, which is only needed after the removal of nowrap from hlist. there is a thread about merging the nowrap functionality into module:navbox, see template talk:navbox. Yes, another reason I purposefully kept the scope restricted to MLB rosters was that I was only addressing one specific, small request made by editors interested in updating MLB rosters, and I'm not sure it is effective to position the template in its current form for use by all sports. If the base navbox module can be extended to accommodate the intended functionality, all the better. isaacl (talk) 00:50, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Isaacl: For the record, Muboshgu changed Template:Pacific-12 Coach of the Year to use this template, so it is being used for more than rosters, per se, and probably can be used for any navbox where spaces are undesirably being wrapped.—Bagumba (talk) 20:41, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yep. The documentation shows {{NLCS MVP}} as an example, so it's already gone beyond only rosters in its usefulness. I'm just starting to apply it to non-baseball sports (I did the NFL and NBA roster navboxes yesterday). – Muboshgu (talk) 20:47, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Just wondering if there is any reason why this wasn't/couldn't be merged into Template:Navbox itself? Are there applications where a wrap is desired?—Bagumba (talk) 21:16, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
It was discussed but I'm not sure if anything resulted from the discussion. Frietjes, can you provide any additional information? isaacl (talk) 21:56, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Here is the most recent discussion thread on this topic; it seemed that the modifications were ready to go at that time? isaacl (talk) 22:24, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
isaacl, yes, everything is ready to go, someone just needs to update the module. Frietjes (talk) 15:47, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Template:Cincinnati Reds managers edit

Does anyone know why the nowrap feature isn't working on this particular navbox? It works on similar navboxes, liek {{Pittsburgh Pirates managers}}. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:34, 22 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
