Teddy Geiger (born September 16, 1988;[2][1] also known as teddy<3) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. Geiger's compositions and productions have sold over 50 million units worldwide, and have been nominated for the BMI Song of the Year for "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes (2015) and the Grammy Award-nominated single "In My Blood" (2018).[citation needed]

2005–2008: Early careerEdit

Originally signed to Columbia Records as a teenager, Geiger's debut album, Underage Thinking, released in 2006, peaked at number eight on the US Billboard 200 albums chart and spawned two singles, "For You I Will (Confidence)" and "These Walls."

2011–2013: The Last FearsEdit

In 2013, Geiger self-released her sophomore album, The Last Fears, through iTunes and Spotify.[3] The album involved many peers and collaborators including John Ryan, A Great Big World, Holly Mirander, Theo Katzman, as well as Levon Helm’s producer and musical director Larry Campbell.

2013–Present: CollaborationsEdit

In recent years Geiger has largely focused on writing and producing songs for prominent artists such as Shawn Mendes, Maroon 5, Ann-Marie, P!nk, John Legend, Leon Bridges, Christina Aguilera, 5 Seconds of Summer, Tiesto, One Direction, DJ Snake, and Sean Paul. Most recently, Teddy co-wrote and produced 11 songs on the self titled Shawn Mendes record, nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album of the Year and for “In My Blood” as Song of the Year at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

2018: LillyAnnaEdit

Geiger released her third album, LillyAnna, in 2018. The album received widespread critical acclaim support from the likes of New York Times,[4] Paper,[5] Billboard,[6] Rolling Stone,[7] Pitchfork.[8]

Personal lifeEdit

Geiger came out as a transgender woman in October 2017.[9] She was engaged to Canadian actress Emily Hampshire but the couple ended their engagement in June 2019 after seven months.[10][11][12]
