This uncited section contains a whole lot of nonsense because its premise is that 4 x 8 was the standard then and 4 1/2 by 9 is the standard now. That's incorrect. Nine footers were tournament standard then too, and they sometimes played on larger 5 x 10s, a table size you almost never see today. This match just happened to have been played on a smaller table, of a size you also see commonly today.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:18, 26 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
