Wife ((G)I-dle song)Wife (song) – No other articles about song titled "Wife" PepeBonus (talk) 09:04, 25 May 2024 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). 162 etc. (talk) 15:15, 30 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Bensci54 (talk) 16:54, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Relisting comment: I'd like to see further evidence to show that the song by Mitski is or is not the primary topic before closing. Bensci54 (talk) 16:54, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
What if there's WP:NOPRIMARY? jlwoodwa (talk) 00:09, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
The primary topic is Wife. I don't believe anyone here is proposing to change that. 162 etc. (talk) 03:51, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't think we're talking about the same thing. Wife cannot be the primary topic for "Wife (song)", because the subject of the article Wife is not a song. jlwoodwa (talk) 06:04, 7 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
My relisting comment was regarding if there is a valid primary topic for Wife (song). Is it the Mitski song, or the (G)i-dle song? Per WP:PRIMARYRED (invoked by Crouch, Swale above), if the Mitski song is the primary topic for Wife (song), then Wife (song) needs to redirect to the album article. If it is not (i.e. there is no primary topic between the two, or the (G)I-dle song is primary), then the requested move should be carried out per WP:SONGDAB as it would be out of the scope of WP:PRIMARYRED. That's my take on the situation and why I requested more discussion regarding primary topic. Bensci54 (talk) 19:04, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
WP:PRIMARYRED states that If there is no primary topic, then the disambiguation page should be the primary landing page. jlwoodwa (talk) 19:22, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Y'all are confused. The primary topic is the one with no disambiguation tag. That's Wife. We're not discussing that here.
The disambiguated title, Wife (song), is for article about the song. The Mitski song has no article, so per WP:SONGDAB, this article (Wife ((G)I-dle song)) is the only one we consider. 162 etc. (talk) 20:44, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Disambiguated titles can also have primary topics! This is precisely what WP:PDAB is about. jlwoodwa (talk) 20:50, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Regarding the situation where there is no primary topic, in my opinion the RFC-backed consensus at WP:SONGDAB would have more weight than WP:PRIMARYRED, although it is clear that these two guidelines do conflict in this instance. Bensci54 (talk) 14:12, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Support per nomination. Can always be changed back if new articles are created. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 05:21, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support per nomination. As QuietHere says, this can always be changed as needed. Lenoresm (talk) 15:27, 12 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
