These are great and a really good addition to WP football articles but they're sometimes spoiled by being wrong. Italy played with three at the back in this tournament and Dugarry and Henry are the wrong way round; Dugarry was an out-and-out striker and Henry was still in his winger days. Better representations would be as follows:

ITALY (3-4-1-2): GK Toldo - CB Cannavaro; CB Nesta; CB Iuliani - RWB Pessotto; CM Albertini; CM Di Biagio; LWB Maldini - AM Fiore - CF Delvecchio; SS Totti

Man of the match

We have a bizarre situation with the man of the match award for the Euro 2000 final, in that all the contemporary reports named Thierry Henry as the man of the match, but more recent articles on UEFA.com name Francesco Totti. It seems that Henry was actually the fans' man of the match (decided by a vote during the game), while Totti was selected either by UEFA's expert panel or the host broadcaster (not sure which, but either way, he's the 'official' man of the match). – PeeJay 21:10, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Yes, strange indeed. Here are some of the conflicting sources:

• Totti: [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13] (lists both of them with 2 MOTM awards, with Totti being listed only once as MOTM prior to the final)

  All kind of done bar one, the "last match" between sides is invariably something which is discussed before such games, so I see literally no harm in it being included here. Also, I added MOTM to the post-match section rather than the match summary. Somehow, with all the footnotes and confusion over the winner, I neglected to include it in the main body.
