German-Turkish

edit

How would we go about wording the fact that he is Turkish and German? Should we include the German part at all? His family hasn't lived in Germany a very long time (his father moved to Germany when he was 11), and he has made appearances for the Turkey youth teams. There was quite a heated debate at the Mesut Özil page, and it was decided that only his German nationality would be listed in the lead, since he is known as being a German national team member. Since Arslan is a Turkey youth player, I believe he should be listed as just a Turkish football. Invisibletr (talk) 01:51, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The point is that he is only eligible for the German national team - and has played for the German U21 - and that he holds the two citizenships as far as I see. So, I think it should be something like "German of Turkish descent" or "German-Turkish".
