Isn't he also a politician?
editTo be perfectly honest, I came to this page because I was watching an episode of Iron Chef in which there was a guest commentator/panelist named "Takenori Emoto", who was introduced as an "Upper House Member" but seemed to have been a baseball pitcher previously.
