The original version of the article mentioned two Latin names: Syzygium javanicum and Eugenia javanica. According to the Germplasm Resources Information Network, these are two different species: S. javanicum and S. samarangense/E. javanica. As the former page mentions "tasteless fruits", and the latter page mentions the alternative names, I've assumed this article is about S. samarangense. The color of its juice is purple?!?!

My folks have a wax apple tree, we always eat wax apples where the colour of the juice is transparent... actually the juice is colourless.

AKA macopa, tambis (?)

I have eaten macopas, and we had a tambis tree in our backyard. These 2 are not the same fruit. Maybe from the same family but definitely not the same fruit. All photos here (at this time) show tambis. Kuanggol (talk) 15:41, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Merger proposal

I propose that Syzygium_aqueum be merged into Syzygium_samarangense. If you look at all the foreign language sitelinks from Syzygium_aqueum, they all point to information on S. samarangense in other languages. The best information on this fruit is on the traditional Chinese wikipedia, since it is a popular fruit in Taiwan. Only the English language article is a weird stub. Flavor

In the text, the flavor is described as resembling that of a snow pear, but most English speakers/readers are unlikely to have ever encountered one of those, and so the description is not particularly helpful.AnotherEffect (talk) 19:27, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

Pictures would be nice

If I weren't so incompetent at wikipedia-editing, I would just copy-paste from https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%93%AE%E9%9C%A7, lol. It would be especially nice to have the picture of the "black pearl" or "black diamond" because the bellfruits do not freakin' look black, even if called such. (It's more like they're red with a lighter yellow-green pigmentation near the stem). Evilbob0 (talk)
