Talk:Statue of Winston Churchill, Parliament Square

Canberra replica edit

Another Believer has just posted a "citation needed" tag next to the claim that there is a replica of the statue at the Australian National University in Canberra. The replica certainly exists, and here are a couple of photos of it from Commons. However, it doesn't feature in ANU's sculpture brochure, and the reason would appear to be that – according to this blog post – it's made of "plastic" (I suspect actually fibreglass). Can anyone provide any further information?

Page 7 of this paper by the Australian Capital Territory Heritage Council provides a brief history of the statue. It states that it's a "fibreglass replica of the Winston Churchill statue by Robert Ivor Jones". Nick-D (talk) 22:24, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Nick-D: that's very helpful. I'll add that as a citation. A shame they garbled the sculptor's name, but I assume the dates are accurate. GrindtXX (talk) 01:55, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
