There are some seriously confusing things in the death section

edit

I am so confused... the death section definitely needs some cleanup... Is the whole thing a quote? I dont understand... the English is kinda garbled, too...

I agree. The whole section needs to be rewritten. "to be due to a malpractice for a cure of a non-life-threatening virus" ??

edit

According to local news, Steve died from a faulty medical procedure. I would edit the page, but I forgot my log-in.

I have reverted the death section back to the original. People keep changing it and adding random stuff and false information. HectaSelecta (talk) 11:33, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Should "pastor" be capitalized?

edit

"His father, who is a Pastor, is very musically inclined."
138.243.129.4 15:41, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

No. Titles are generally only capitalized if used in conjunction with or instead of the name. For example, I refer to my dad as Dad. In the first case, "dad" was not capitalized because I was identifying him with a class of people. In the second case, "Dad" was capitalized because I was using it as a title instead of his actual name. Even when titles have a religious purpose, it is only when they are used with the name (or instead of the name) that they are capitalized. For example, Joseph Ratzinger was a cardinal before he became Pope Benedict XVI. I hope this helps --Carl (talk|contribs) 03:03, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is the WORST article Ive ever read!

edit

This is the WORST article Ive ever read on Wikipedia. It reads like a advertisement or fan page. I'm taking out a lot of stuff in here. Here are some of the things I'm removing-

1) Stephen “Static” Garrett is more than a Blackground artist – he’s the label’s long-time secret weapon. This sentence is ridiculous.

2) Having helped create hits for seminal singers like Ginuwine, Brandy and the late Aaliyah, this multi-faceted talent has also lent fortune to newcomers like Pretty Ricky and pop sensation JoJo. (Multi-faceted talent), (Lent talent) Also where are the sources that he lent his "talent" to Pretty Ricky and JoJo?

3) Static continued to write songs such as “Say My Name” (Destiny’s Child), the Dr. Dre-helmed “So Addictive” (Truth Hurts) and for Aaliyah, the chart-toppers “Are You That Somebody,” and “Try Again,” as well as “More Than a Woman” and “Rock the Boat.” With three number-one’s, he also made his presence known in hip-hop, crafting Nas’s “You Owe Me” and Jay-Z’s “Change the Game.” This is all fine but where are the sources for this?

4) Solo album section This whole section is garbage. It goes on and on about this solo album but it doesn't even give the name of the album! it also says things like-"Static describes the lead single, “I Got My,” as a “cocky joint” on which he’s “poking my chest out and I’m letting the world know, ‘I’m straight. I got this, I got that.’ I wanted to come with a song that had a wide range [of topics] and try to show them, all the spectrums I can go through in four minutes.” Where are the sources for the statements that are in quotes? Are these quotes from a interview in a magazine or tv show? How do we know that Static even said these things?

5) Having already made his mark from behind the scenes, Static is prepped to step up to the mic and into the spotlight in a Major way. Another ridiculous biased statement.

6) It was rumored, but not confirmed, to be due to a malpractice for a cure of a non-life-threatening virus. The rumors were started by one of his relatives, and later announced by his former Playa band mate, Smoke E. Digglera, and his very close friend Caleb "CJ" Miske. Chikka Hoot was a witness and a former family member. What does "malpractice for a cure of a non-life-threatening virus" mean? Also is Wikipedia a place for rumors? And also should Wikipedia be saying one of his relatives started rumors? Also who are the following people? "his very close friend Caleb "CJ" Miske." or "Chikka Hoot was a witness and a former family member" Who is Chikka Hoot? How do we know he was a "witness" or a "family member"? Sounds like Chikka Hoot wanted someone to read this article and see that he was a "witness and a former family member" I'm trimming this article down to a very basic bio since 90% of it is biased and unsourced. Maybe someone more familiar with Wikipedia can rewrite this article and add sources for all these claims but until then I think it should be a very basic bio until sources are added. A basic bio is better than this unsourced, biased terrible article! --BeckiGreen (talk) 04:23, 17 March 2012 (UTC)04:55, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I Got My Ft Kanye?

edit

It's featuring Lil Wayne... or is there a remix with Kanye also, anyway it's originally by Static then they put Wayne on it for an official "remix". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.67.89.94 (talk) 09:26, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
