Notes for improvement edit

Hey, I just thought it'd be good to create a discussion surrounding improvements or changes we could make for this page.

  1. Even though the game isn't out yet, the "Gameplay" section looks like it could use some work. I updated it a bit yesterday, but considering the fact that it plays like most other Genesis Sonic games (like CD and S&K), and games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild had decent-sized gameplay sections before it was even released, we could expand it slightly.

"Game developed in Australia" edit

An editor keeps adding this category, citing Christian Whitehead being Australian. This is flawed reasoning - just because he's Australian doesn't mean he made it while in Australia. So there's a few questions here:

  1. Did he?
  2. Even if did, is that enough? This game is a global property with developed team members scattered across the world.
  3. Even after that, does it pass WP:DEFINING? This is a pretty well-developed article and the fact that it was developed in Australia isn't even mentioned in the article, let alone shown as a defining characteristic.

I could be wrong, and if I am, so be it. But I wanted to be wrong for the right reasons, not the lackluster explanation I was given. Sergecross73 msg me 13:24, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yep, we'll need a source before we even consider adding a category. Popcornfud (talk) 13:53, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I completely agree that just because a dev is of a certain nationality doesn't mean the game was developed in that region. I can't think of any example where the dev's nationality wasn't where the game was developed at the moment but I"m sure there is one out there. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 15:08, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Tantalus Media, who are based in Australia, did also partially develop the Switch version too, which is sourced, and I still think they should be credited for that in the developer list. And even disregarding that, I still think this game counts as an Australian-American co-production, so it should be listed in Video Games developed in Australia.Vesperius (talk) 05:39, 27 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
