In 1983, while still behind the Iron Curtain, the official guided tour of Bratislava conducted as part of a hydrofoil day trip from Vienna spent the most time here at Slavín. In contrast, the visit to Bratislava Castle hill lasted 5 minutes during which we were told that the Castle itself, which we did not enter, was not interesting because it was only a reconstruction.
