I removed Sensei's contemporaries are Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan, Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, Kazuo Chiba Shihan, and Mitsunari Kanai Shihan since I don't really understand the point of mentioning these names. / Habj 03:28, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Is there more history available? Details of how Sugano came to live and instruct in each country, when the Shihan title was awarded, etc? Cesiumfrog (talk) 07:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Is it worth including information about his influence, e.g., those of his students that have also become shihans or high ranks? Cesiumfrog (talk) 04:54, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Categories for nationality edit
Since aikido people in general have been categorized not only with birth country but also the place where they have lived and worked as aikido teachers, it is difficult to know what categories to use for Sugano sensei esp. regarding Europe. For now, I have included him in a bunch of categories, including "European aikidoka" rather than one category for each European country he has lived in. // Habj 16:10, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- He should only be in the Japanese aikidoka category. I removed Category:American aikidoka until we get a reliable source that says he has naturalized as an American citizen, which I don't think has happened. Heroeswithmetaphors (talk) 19:26, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
