Districts, predecessors and stuff

edit

[5] says Chaudhary represents district 52,but all our wiki pages say district 50. Also, which district was he representative in the House of Representatives? 50A, 50B? Another?? Circeus 02:02, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

52A. The district was changed after redistricting in 2000. Policodivya (talk) 01:38, 15 June 2010 (UTC)PoliticodivyaReply

Chaudhary was sworn in as a senator in Minnesota SD50 (formerly SD52) in 2001. He succeeded Senator Steve Novak and still serves effectivie 2010. He was elected the House of Representatives in 1996 and 1998 in what was SD52A--- beating Skip Carlson and then winning as an incumbent. In 2000 Chaudhary then ran for Novak's open senate seat in the old SD52- now SD50. He was re-elected to the senate in 2002 and 2006.l Barb Goodwin ran for Chaudhary's empty house seat in new SD50A in 2000, holding that office until 2006 when she retired. The current SD50A rep is Carolyn Laine (DFL) serving since 2007, and Rep. Kate Knuth SD50B.Policodivya (talk) 01:48, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Chaudhary.jpg

edit

Image:Chaudhary.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Removed paragraph

edit

I removed this paragraph from controversy section, saying nothing helpful about Mr. Chaudhary, only his opponent's stupidity. Just because a fact is published doesn't make it noteworthy. Tom Ruen 23:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

After he was re-elected in 2006 to the Senate, his opponent, Rae Hart Anderson, sent him a concession email that said

The race of your life is more important than this one--and it is my sincere wish that you'll get to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.[1].

The message was deemed very inappropriate by the populace, as Chaudhury is known to be a practicing Hindu - even though he has posed for campaign literature pictures with Santa Claus.[1]

I added this back because this event was reprresentative of many of the ethnic and racial isues faced by inidivuals of colof in a public position/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.17.253.27 (talk) 00:08, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
