Photograph edit
I was just wondering about the accuracy of the photograph accompanying this article. If Sakugawa died in 1815, how can there be a photograph of him? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tybaltstone (talk • contribs) 00:06, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
I agree. Portrait photography didn't exist prior to Sakugawa's death; see Photography#History_of_photography. This is someone else; though after Googling around, it's clearly been passed on as Sakugawa's portrait by dozens of sites.--RLW (talk) 21:06, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
The first permanent photograph created arount 1826 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce (March 7, 1765 – July 5, 1833). So the photo accompanying this article is actually someone else.
