Why has he got a girl's name?
editAny idea? Spiderone (talk) 12:46, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- His birth name is Rupert. Off the top of my head I believe he is nicknamed after his grandfather, Ted Walsh's dad, who was also known as Ruby.--Bcp67 (talk) 14:00, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Exact number of winners
editIn the infobox it says 2700+. Surely we can be more precise than that. A Racing Post article has it at 2,756 wins over jumps in Britain & Ireland. That is not his full total however as this does not appear to include National Hunt Flat wins aka Bumpers. His first win (Siren Song) & his first Cheltenham Festival winner (Alexander Banquet) fall into that category. The total from the Racing Post article also does not appear to include his wins in Japan, Australia & USA. Below is the Racing Post article. I hope someone finds a more precise one for the total wins.

- His stats page on the RP [1] shows totals of 776 for GB "jumps" (NHF, Hurdle & Chase), and 1991 Irish "jumps" (same basis), making a combined GB & I total of 2767 NH winners - so must be 11 bumper winners amongst that. Agree that there is no figure anywhere for his non-GB & I winners (also has had winners in France I think), but at least we can give a clear total for his GB & I NH winners. --Bcp67 (talk) 15:45, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
