• I agree with your idea but I don't think many people would know how to do a dash so I think I should try and keep it simple for others. • And also When I tried to first create the page, it wouldn't let me put it as the name that I want it to be because it says that the name is already in use and it isn't in use it just redirects you to Modern-day Egypt, It needs to be Republic of Egypt (1953-1958) which is different from Modern day Arab Republic of Egypt. • Very strong oppose - this might win a last minute prize for the worst RM of 2020. Most readers aren't going to know this, Egypt is still a republic; titles are meant to help readers. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:27, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
• Oppose as a matter of disambiguation and primary topic. I do not believe this historical state is primary over the current state, which still includes "Republic of Egypt" within its formal name, and which could be reasonably descriptively described as the republic of Egypt. • Very strong oppose and retarget the redirect of Republic of Egypt to Egypt. Although the redirect is not the exact official name of the country, we usually redirect official names to their country names. Example: Republic of Iran redirects to Iran. What do you mean they moved it? Looking at the article history D4rkeRR9 created it on 14 November. (That said it's completely unsourced so not immediately apparent if the current article title or content is correct.) CMD (talk) 07:58, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Ah, thanks. Looking more closely now, as I didn't expect so many title moves by the article creator. In addition to being completely unreferenced, it seems this page is simply unattributed copy-pastes of text from other Wikipedia articles, including at least Egypt, Egyptian revolution of 1952, and Suez Crisis. Unsure if there are others. Rather than unpicking all this and figuring out correct titles, perhaps it is best to turn this into a redirect for now? CMD (talk) 11:47, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
