Alternative Press and Mark:
editMark did not make that comment in Alternative Press that someone stated earlier. I contacted AP for confirmation and they said that they had not talked with Mark.
- A little research on fansites such as plus44online.com confirms he did speak to them. They have scans of the interview.
No It isn't
edit{{POV-check}}
The new song song from plus 44 is rad it is on their website www.plus-44.com. I reccommend everyone to listen to it.
some kid: the song "no it isn't" seems like its directed toward tom because listen to the lyrics. Stuff like, "this isnt just goodbye, this is I can't stand you" or " in foriegn dressing rooms" when they had problems in europe. Also it says curse my enemies forever. it all makes sense. blink probobly broke up and cause of a fight and ened up hating eachother. just solve the fucking problem and get back together.
And the line "This is where the road crashed into the ocean", when blink went overseas to Europe to countinue the tour. The "road"=path, meaning their paths were "crashed" or destroyed when they went overseas and they went on their seperate ways.-Cory pratt
"...and burn down something beautiful" I think this is an important line, seems weird because both sides of the argument seem to recognise that that blink was something pretty cool, yet no one seems to want to take a step back to what once was. --Patrick Gardner (too lazy to make an account)
Although it would seem as though the song is directed at Tom, Mark has said the song is in no way related to that. I would say he is lying but that is for someone else to decide... Brandonluvsapril (talk) 22:02, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
This Is Old. It's Different Now. It Is 100% Directed at Tom. People asked Him about this and He Said 'No it Isn't' That's why The song Is Called No it Isn't. If you don't Believe me ask anyone at blink-182media.com and they'll tell you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.254.200.224 (talk) 19:12, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Plus-44 sixty second song?
editHello everyone, I removed the sentence On February 26, 2006 a sixty-second clip of a song was released that many suspect is Plus-44. The clip has a very electronic, synth feel to it, and would be a huge change of pace for punk rock veterans, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker.. If anyone has any sources for this please post them here. --Greedy 03:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. Unless with get confirmation that this is a Plus-44 song it does not belong in the article.
- I corrected your link, it was wrong. Now it works. ;) --Greedy 20:53, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

- Yey! Thanks :P ... back to ( +44 )... I listened to it... but where did you get it? How can it be related to ( +44 )?--Greedy 21:56, 27 February 2006 (UTC) (I'm da man)
I got it off of a Plus-44 message board. And it has got to be related to the band because the demo has a very strong synth feel to it.-Cory pratt
Website
editI'm sort of confused on which site is Plus-44's official site. Is it www.plus-44.com or www.plusfourtyfour.com? The former still has "No It Isn't" playing on the site, while the latter seems to be what most people reference when referring to the "official Plus-44 site." Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. Drewface 23:00, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

People removing links without reason
editI originally had my External link posted below the plus44.tk link (my link was the last one)
New links have been added at the bottom, but recently people have been removing my link:
- Plus 44 UK UK Plus 44 website, with media and a forum
So I replace it and after a day or so it has gone again without any explanation, which is very annoying.
A lot of my site traffic comes from that link, Please leave it alone, there is nothing wrong with it and the site is as described.
The last user to change it had the following IP: 168.171.228.22
--toypaj 00:06, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not the one who removed the link but I can see why others may think the link is redundant since there is not a lot of content on the site (yet). --MrPink 16:53, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- I just read Wikipedia's policy on linking. Here's what it says:
- When you should link externally : http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/When_should_I_link_externally
- “…Not very often. If the site you are linking to is an article, history or timeline, then wikipedia should have its own article on that subject, not just an external link. The web is already full past capacity of sites composed of links to other sites.”
- specifically adds:
- “Links to normally avoid: A website that you own or maintain (unless it is the official site of the subject of the article). If it is relevant and informative, mention it as a possible link on the talk page and wait for someone else to include it, or include the information directly in the article.”
- If you are looking for a way to increase traffic to your site, there are Directory sites such as Yahoo. Wikipedia is not a directory. --MrPink 22:35, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Somebody removed the link about Mark signing the record deal with Interscope for the next album. I put it back but can that person be blocked or something?
4th member?
editI see a lot of people adding/removing Shane Gallagher from the list of members. Although it's not official yet, Mark Hoppus did mention "Shane Gallagher from Plus-44" in his 11th podcast. Should he be included or not? Please vote!

Shane Gallagher is a member as well as Craig Fairbaugh. Carol is no longer a member.
- As of early 2006 Mark posted a bulletin saying Carol was still in the band. Who is Craig Fairbough? What are your sources?--MrPink 15:43, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

- I'm sorry, but that isn't an addmited source.--Zingazin 18:03, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't know if this is still an issue of contention, but they did confirm them in a recent article (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1536871/20060721/hoppus_mar%20k.jhtml?headlines=true%20there%20now%20shut%20up).
"And there have been plenty of changes: Original vocalist Carol Heller is gone, replaced by a pair of guitarists: Craig Fairbaugh and Shane Gallagher. Producer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura was called in to tinker with a track. And finally — and most importantly — the band's sound underwent a rather drastic transformation. And to that end, it's no longer entirely correct to refer to Plus as merely an "electronic" act.
"At first, we had the idea that it would have a lot of electronic influences, because by necessity we were recording on a computer. But then we bought this studio, and after we moved the band into here, the whole vibe changed," Hoppus said. "There's all kinds of stuff going on. Guitars mixed with keyboards, and electronic drums mixed with live drums. It's based on guitars and rhythms, and both Shane and Craig are great guitar players."" Onikage725

Genre specification
editWho removed punk rock from the band's genre and why?
-- Ido50 13:11, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
I have removed it because it does not describe the music at all. The correct genres are Alternative rock, pop punk and emo. Punk rock can describe bands such as The Explosion or possibly Rise Against particulary their first and newest albums.
Unfortunately, genre is almost an issue of opinion. I would consider +44 punk rock as it is very general, does anyone agree? Brandonluvsapril (talk) 22:09, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Wow.. the only genre on here is pop punk. I'd understand if that was one of three genres or something but this is saying +44 makes music similar to blink-182, sum 41, new found glory, etc. ...which they don't.
- There you go. It used to be there, but it wasn't anymore... weird.--GraafGeorge (talk) 17:51, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
+44 vs (+44)
editi think the arcticle should be moved to the +44 arcticle.
they changed their display name on myspace from (+44) to +44 and on MTV2 the when your heart stops beating video said +44 and not (+44).
and the album cover says +44.
so, it really should be moved.
- Maybe so, but the anonymous user that keeps doing this isn't doing an actual page move...they're just redirecting it to +44 and copying the page over. This means the history and talk page aren't transferred over. (See WP:MOVE for more info.) GrahameS 04:24, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
i dont know how to move.
someone do it for me please???? IM DESPERATE!!!!!!!!....please :)

- Please tell me an admin cleaned the history. I'm going to move it back. Moving pages can only be done by users; PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't copy and paste. -- Chrissperanza! chat edits 05:53, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
The article should be moved back to (+44) pending further discussion. --Jamdav86 20:01, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Jamdav86, please give reasons supporting the name being officially (+44). On their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/plus44) their name is listed as +44 as well as is listed on their official homepage (http://www.plusfortyfour.com/), not to mention other sources which rarely list names incorrectly (e.g. iTunes Store). If you cannot provide reasons, all text on the article will be changed to +44 and if you choose to go against sound reasoning beyond that an administrator will be blocking your account and/or IP address brandon.macuser 00:46, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
There is no way that you can find out this information. Pages such as www.44disasters.com switch between the two, shops such as HMV list them under (+44) while Amazon.co.uk list them as +44 (but calling the album "When Your Heart")... it's just a silly thing to be throwing a fit about. I was merely suggesting that the article remain at the old name until we could reach an agreement, as per Wikipedia policy, but I shall find something better to do with my time than arguing about wheter there are brackets in a band's name. --Jamdav86 20:31, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- It's definately (+44). It was named after the connection on the phone when they came up with the idea of the band. One of them was in London, and one was in LA, so he had to put in (+44) at the start of the number, that's why they're called that.--Bloberto 19:50, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
That does not necessarily mean it's spelt (+44), however. --Jamdav86 19:30, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I guess they're not in the hot 100
Quick move to previous name
editI propose that the article be put back to (+44) pending prolonged discussion of actual page name. --Jamdav86 20:53, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say go ahead and discuss where it should be, and then we can move it back if that seems necessary. We don't really like to move things back just so we can talk about whether they should have been moved in the first place. The best thing is to have the discussion, and then do whatever gets decided. -GTBacchus(talk) 09:04, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Personally I'm for a move back; the latest news post on their official site refers to (+44)[3], and both MTV[4] and MTV2[5] now use (+44). I do admit that both are used interchangeably, even by the band themselves, so there'll always be some debate over the name, but (+44) seems to be the most common, and most official ShakingSpirittalk 10:13, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest you list the page at WP:RM in the current dated section and follow the procedure there for setting up a move survey on this page. That's the best way for getting moves done when it seems there's any disagreement, as in this case. -GTBacchus(talk) 19:39, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Lead / Rhythm Guitar?

Lycanthrope vinyl
editI changed a couple of things. First, the "No It Isn't" single was released in 2005, and secondly, there was a "Lycanthrope" 7" vinyl released, so I added that. Brian 02:38, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Andrew Giacco?

+44 origins
editits a pretty well know fact that plus 44 was first conceived by mark Hoppus and Travis barker in London, england. they have personally stated that in various interviews. so shouldn't we change the origins to London, england instead of Los Angeles? i'm unsure of this topic myself, because i know that they're Americans......
I completely agree. Mark and Travis concieved the idea in London, England during blink's last UK tour. Brandonluvsapril (talk) 22:21, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Can they really be called a Supergroup?
editOut of the bands the various members were originally in, I'd say only Blink 182 achieved a large amount of success. A couple of members being in a successful and well-known group does not make their new band a supergroup. If Alter Bridge are not a supergroup, which they are not considered as one on here (even with the level of success of Creed), then how can +44 be considered one? James25402 18:46, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
You Have Misunderstood the term SUPERGROUP. it Means the band is consisted of members that have already reached 'The top of their game'. Mark & Travis with Blink. and the other players with their respective Bands. etc AVA Has Tom DeLonge Atom, David, And Matt who all Have Reached the top of their Game so the band is called a supergroup. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.254.200.215 (talk) 15:28, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
What has happened to this page?
editWhen I used to edit this page it was admittedly a lot shorter, but it was definitely not as messy. What has happened to it? The tables are messy and there are sources which have simply been deleted but remain as empty references in the ref section. There are hidden notes throughout saying that it's being redone, but who is doing it? If someone is developing the page in their user sub-page, shouldn't there be a note of it on this page?

Although it is very annoying, it is necessary as a dialing code is a lot more significant than a band. (However amazing this band may be :)) Brandonluvsapril (talk) 22:24, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Workign on realtionships with their "husbands" ????
editThis has to be in error....should it say, "working on their relationships with their wives"??? I'm pretty sure both Travis and Mark are married to females. Correct?
- This was vandalism, I deleted it. There are just too much frustrated people out there who have nothing better (or more original) to do then put gay references on every band's page.GraafGeorge 21:39, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Band logo in infobox
editI have recently had many of the band logos I have uploaded removed from pages by IllaZilla, without consensus and with flawed logic, at least from my point of view. On this basis I believe they should not be removed until a consensus is agreed upon. Asenine (talk)(contribs) 17:02, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- IllaZilla definitely should have discussed this first before removing all these images from several bands' articles. The images are, however, non-free and are subject to the fair-use criteria. I'm not one to interpret that though, so the logos should stay until a consensus is reached. Timmeh! 23:02, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- 1) Yes the discussion is ongoing, and you are invited to participate in it at Template talk:Infobox Musical artist#Logos, however I think you will find the consensus is pretty clear: Logos don't belong in the name field of the infobox. The name should be in plain text. This is consistent with the purpose of the infobox and with WP:ACCESS, as users with slow connections or images disabled will be unable to read the name. If the logo is notable, then it should be in the body of the article next to a discussion of its significance: Who created it? What does it symbolize? In what context is it used? This is too much discussion to cram into the infobox, and since logos are copyrighted and may only be used once per article, the appropriate place for them is in the article body. Without any discussion then the image is clearly only serving a decorative purpose and thus fails Wikipedia's criteria for non-free images and fair use.
- 2) I notice you've tried to meet the issue halfway by placing both the name in plain text and the logo underneath. This is less objectionable, but still not acceptable. The infobox does not have a field for logos, and for a reason: it has a field for a free image of the artist. This, combined with the artist's name in plain text, provides identification of the artist, and in the best possible way: Free. A logo does not accomplish this, and since you already have the photo and the name the logo is again serving a strictly decorative purpose, thus failing fair use.
- 3) To address the specific images you seem to be stuck on, namely Taking Back Sunday, Saosin, +44, and My Chemical Romance: none of these are in fact logos, they are just the stylization of the band's name pulled of their most recent album. You seem to have some confusion as to what a logo actually is: it's an ideogram, symbol, emblem, icon, sign, and/or typeface used consistently over time and across various media to identify something, in this case a band. None of the images you are using have been used consistently enough to be called a proper logo. Take your My Chemical Romance image: It's the stylization of the band's name from the cover of The Black Parade, and thus also appears on the merchandise (shirts, stickers, etc.) associated with that album. But it's not the same as the stylization used on I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, or the merchandise associated with those albums. When the band releases a new album, chances are the name will be stylized differently. Thus this particular stylization is not used consistently enough to be called a logo. What makes it more of an "official" logo than this? I'd say nothing except the fact that it's more recent, which doesn't carry much weight. Not every band has a logo. Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, KISS, and Rocket from the Crypt are examples of bands that had logos: symbols and/or lettering that was used consistently across most of their careers and almost all of their albums and merchandise. The bands whose "logos" you are defending don't in fact have logos at all.
- To conclude, since we are debating about copyrighted images that fall under fair use criteria, the onus is on you to provide some rationale for including them, not on me to rationalize removing them. And unless you can come up with a valid rationale (ie. something better than "logos look cool") they're going to stay out. --IllaZilla (talk) 03:44, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- And on what basis do you assume that you have the final say? You're not the definitive voice of reason. I now can understand where you are coming from and will stick only to logos that are frequently recurring - but I find it highly insensitive and unprofessional for you to simply assume that by having a long 'conclusion' you have ended the argument, like you suggest in your remark "they're going to stay out". Asenine (talk)(contribs) 17:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- I simply meant "to conclude my comments" since it was a very long comment. And by "they're going to stay out" I meant that because consensus on this issue is very heavily weighted towards not having logos in the infobox, concerned editors (other than just myself) are going to continue taking active steps to make sure they are not used in that way. No offense was intended by either remark. --IllaZilla (talk) 20:27, 23 January 2008 (UTC) Asenine (talk)(contribs) 22:01, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Taglines
editI think that we should bring back the tagline chart. They are pretty interesting facts, and played a somewhat important role in the time it took the website to become fully functional. Anyone else agree? The last time I saw them was in June of 2006, but there could have been more recent ones. Should I pull them back up? Any input is appreciated. Band name
edit"The band name refers to the international dialing code of the United Kingdom, the country where Hoppus and Barker first discussed the project."
I can't imagine that the band name doesn't also refer, or is a BLINK or wink as we say in Holland, to the band name of SUM 41.
SUM is equivalent to PLUS and 44 is a number just like 41 so to me it means that sum adds 41 while plus adds 44 so it will be 3 higher in the charts than 41. Get it?? --Hanknosemans (talk) 23:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Break Up??
editMarks interview on mtv suggests +44 is over. this should be mentioned.
- the years active has been changed to 2005-2009 instead of 2005- present, this is one step —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.166.164.232 (talk) 07:14, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- There has been no announcement - so they have not broken up. Until there is something official, we do not go around starting rumours. k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 09:52, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. The source is unclear whether it's a hiatus or a break-up. I wouldn't doubt that the band is broken up, I mean they haven't been active it seems since their album came out, but until we get an official word on it, the page should be left as it is. No, Plus 44 has broken up, -- Ask anyone at blink-182media.com and check the official news page for confirmation. -- Antubis —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.113.90 (talk) 18:04, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
