Gold dust edit

What's the source of Phraates' coins being polished with gold dust, and where is he called Phraates Theos because of this? Soczyczi 20:18, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I will review this afternoon/evening. NoahTalk 15:16, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "in charge of the expedition, and leaving him with some Parthian soldiers." Could this be reworded?
Eh, somewhat changed it, didn't have the best idea on what to replace it with. What do you think? --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:36, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "Since the death of Mithridates II (r. 124–91 BC) the Parthian Empire had fallen" --> After the death of Mithridates II (r. 124–91 BC), the Parthian Empire fell"
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:17, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • " A few years earlier (72 BC)" Comma after this
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:17, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • " however, leading him to join Pompey instead" this part needs to be rephrased to agree with the previous portion of the sentence
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:34, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "However, after a brief reign" comma after that
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:17, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "was concluded" This would reach better as "was established"
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:28, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "After his death, the tiara does not appear on Parthian coinage for some time" When does it appear again? Some time is pretty vague.
I don't recall the source going into that unfortunately. Looking at the coinage of the Parthians in CNG and so on, it seemed to first reappear under Vonones II, though I currently lack a source that states so. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:19, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Could you please try to find this sometime? I won't hold up the GAN for this since it is minor (also due to our current global predicament), but it should be added. NoahTalk 01:28, 3 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "In c. 57 BC" comma after this
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:17, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "Mithridates IV, was at first supported by his younger brother Orodes II.[44] However, this support was short-lived." this needs to be rephrased and both of those sentences could honestly be merged together
Changed it a bit, what do you think? --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:32, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Replace the semicolon with a colon for a list
Done. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:21, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Could you please vary what sides of the article images are placed on?
Done. Wanted to do it with the coin image too but not enough space. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:17, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

That should be it. This article is in pretty good shape and should be easy to fix. NoahTalk 22:57, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • @HistoryofIran: There are a few instances in which you use the same citation multiple times in a row. A citation can cover a few sentences without there being issues. All the changes made above look fine. NoahTalk 01:28, 3 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've removed some. In many of the cases the same citation is also included with another citation or even more, so I didn't touch those. --HistoryofIran (talk) 02:31, 3 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
