Hello, my intention was not malicious. I did create Outsports, and I tried to mimic what was in other entires like ESPN. I did not mean for it to be a marketing tool at all. Outsports has a rich history and has been one of the most important forces behind the growth in gay sports over the last seven years. Please, if you can point me to any resources that will show me how to better write an entry, I'll gladly do it. And again, I'm sorry I went outside your guidelines. I did not intend to at all. Thank you!

Hello. Don't worry, nobody thought that your intent was malicious. The trouble is that there are many thousands of small organisations and websites that are do not have Wikipedia entries because they are not notable enough. The concept of notability as it applies to Wikipedia articles is defined here: WP:NOTABILITY In order to assert that Outsports is a notable entity, you should provide some independent references that will demonstrate this. Examples would be newspaper or magazine articles or links to reputable websites (see Wikipedia:Reliable_sources for guidelines). --CIreland 18:16, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hi, after searching the internet, it's clear that Outsports is extremely notable and flagging it for speedy-deletion was my error. Sorry about that. Tag removed. --CIreland 18:39, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

No worries. And thanks for your consideration! Cydzeigler 15:38, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Self-promotional edit

This article is so blatantly self-promotional that it beggars belief.

Most of the information given here quite simply isn't verifiable (much of it is easy to disprove) and ridiculous claims such as “considered the worldwide leader in gay sports” fall flat on their face when you consider that Outsports rarely covers anything outside of the USA, gives very little coverage to lesbian sports and totally ignores the most popular worldwide gay team sports (soccer, cricket, rugby, handball etc.).

An award is mentioned - but that comes from a national organisation which itself seems to be short on notability (certainly on any worldwide level).

I am in the process of rewriting this on the basis of what IS verifiable, so any comments and suggestions are welcome.

To be perfectly honest, I am not even sure that it will meet the notability criteria and given the nonsensical and self-promotional nature of the content, I get the impression that Wikipedia is being as a tool to gain notability where otherwise there would be none at all.
