Sibling(s)? edit

If she was the "youngest of a brother and sister", how is it that her older sister died? Was this supposed to say that she was the youngest of 3 children (herself , an older brother, and an older sister)? --Khajidha (talk) 14:55, 11 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Inınderstandable question. Please make it clearer. CeeGee 08:06, 12 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
If she is the "youngest of a brother and sister", that means that there are only 2 children: herself and her older brother. So, where is this older sister coming from? --Khajidha (talk) 14:53, 12 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • When it is said "she is the youngest of a brother and a sister" then there are three children. How can this be interpreted otherwise? CeeGee 15:47, 12 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Because that's not how the English language works. "She is the youngest of a brother and a sister" means that she is the youngest individual in a group composed of a brother and a sister. She is the sister. That leaves only the brother as another member of the group. That is only two children. You then go on to mention an older sister. That older sister is not mentioned previously and is, in fact, contradicted by the previous statement showing that there were only two children (Nurcan and her brother). --Khajidha (talk) 16:50, 12 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
I've just gone ahead and fixed it. --Khajidha (talk) 16:53, 12 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
