Question edit

I hate to ask the obvious question but when this bird got its name was it suppose to be a racist thing then. Obviously when the specie was named the word negros where common in dialect. Was this bird suppose to represent the behavior of some? Whats the history of the name of this specie? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.230.3.250 (talk) 15:09, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

A bit late, but it was named after the island it is from, Negros. Rufous-crowned Sparrow (talk) 21:08, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Nice little article, which is basically there. I've fixed some minor issues while I read it. FunkMonk (talk) 15:39, 5 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • "It is uncertain where the dove should be placed within the genus Ptilinopus due to the lack of a male specimen." Why is this the reason? Could be elaborated.

  • The behaviour section is so short and doesn't really tell anything implied by the title, it could maybe be merged into description or habitat?
I think it needs to be there for standard bird formatting practices, plus it emphasizes how little is known. Also, if Negros Fruit Doves are miraculously rediscovered, then the section is there and waiting for dramatic expansion. Thanks for doing the review. • Alright then, not anything else to add for such a short article, passed! FunkMonk (talk) 05:39, 6 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
