Neerali edit

  • Here, I am copy pasting a discussion that occurred at my talk page between March-May 2018. It was regarding an edit by User:Yourmistake adding actress Parvatii Nair's name second to Mohanlal's in the article lead, infobox and cast section. It was later found out that this user was another sock of User:Abhinand1234, who was blocked for promoting the actress in various film articles, mostly for adding her name at a superior position in star cast and edit warring for the same. Given below is the discussion. --Let There Be Sunshine 14:30, 23 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hai I think there are enough reference for other star casts in Neerali. please check here [[1]] and [[2]] Thank you Yourmistake (talk) 16:53, 17 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there are cast list in those sources, saying female lead, supporting roles, important roles etc. But you cannot add all of them in the infobox "starring" field or the lead in "the film stars". Also, in which order are you arranging the cast ? Where do you get that order from ?. Not everyone has starring roles in a film, starring and cast are different. To this point, it's unknown that which actors has starring credits apart from Mohanlal. Either you should have a proper source stating that or need to wait until the film releases (always recommended). Saying "How come mohanlal only stars in a movie.." does not support your addition of other cast.--Let There Be Sunshine 17:18, 17 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

About the Third Opinion request: The request for a Third Opinion in regard to this dispute has been removed (i.e. declined) because like all other moderated content dispute resolution venues at Wikipedia, 3O requires extensive talk page discussion before seeking assistance. Parvatii nair and Suraj doing star roles in their previous films.and sources clearly says they are doing main lead roles.[3] I believe they deserve to be in star cast Yourmistake (talk) 03:15, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

What's their previous films has to do with this film ? For the source you shown, there are contradicting sources as well [4], some others also reports Nadhiya as the female lead [5] [6]. Neither you or these news editors don't know anything about the cast and roles, this is an upcoming film, the editors writes on their discretion which is why different sources reports differently. Sourcing does not guarantee inclusion, there is a thing called "fact checking", it is yet to be verified here. And, you still haven't answered were did you get the cast order from [7]. --Let There Be Sunshine 14:16, 21 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ok then we have to add both Parvaty and Nadhiya as female star cast in the movie... many sources clearly mentioned even before the film starts there will be two female leads.. before they were trying to cast meena and trisha ..one is mohanlals wife(Nadhiya) who has less screen space and Parvatii (more screenspace) I dont know what is the exact rule here in wikipedia while adding star roles.I checked and noticed many other movies all included important cast as star cast.I dont know why experienced editor like you fights for this. Yourmistake (talk) 16:45, 21 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I wanted to know wikipedia policy about adding star casts in a film.because there are many upcoming films example Kayamkulam Kochunni (2018 film) take a look at the star cast( mohanlal doing a extended cameo.giving him top star credits.and many others too)I mentioned Kayamkulam kochunni because --Let There Be Sunshine is one of the main editors there.Kammara_Sambhavam,Ranam (2018 film)I can give many examples.why its all differ from Neerali .Please make one rule for every article.Yourmistake (talk) 18:25, 21 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

How can you know which actress has more screen space, the film has not released. Reliable sources can be used to explain about the cast in the article body, and to roughly arrange them in the cast section (which we have no other choice), but that is not necessary in the lead and infobox. It is also applicable to all other films as well. What you said about KK is not true, no starring credits has been given, it is very specific: 'Nivin Pauly in title role, Mohanlal in cameo', a very notable cameo worth mentioning in lead and his name is not in the infobox and is placed at the very bottom of the cast list - that is a different case, not comparable. In case of Ranam, Prithviraj, Rahman and Isha's names are specifically billed on the poster, clearly they have the starring credits. IPs are frequently making cast changes in both KK and Ranam, the latter is now protected. I don't care much about Kammara Sambhavam, already there are many articles in my watch, including Neerali.--Let There Be Sunshine 11:40, 22 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

List of Malayalam films of 2018#Scheduled please check out the star cast. many of films star cast arranged by considering some of the relevant sources like neerali has. here there are some some relevant sources clearly mentioned Parvatii Nair and Nadhiya doing important roles.example [[8][9] [10] Indian express, times of india,Mathrubhumi some of the leading news papers in India. this is enough reference for giving them star credits Yourmistake (talk) 02:43, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

The 2018 list is not a good example, indeed it's bad. I would say that cast column itself should be removed from that. Whataboutism and WP:OSE are useless here, especially when the pointed examples are bad. About the later, I had already explained above, I think you haven't listened carefully or not willing to.--Let There Be Sunshine 18:34, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

waiting for third opinion from admins...I dont understand your point.when some of resources clearly proves the star cast.how can we not include the star cast. thank you.. Yourmistake (talk) 21:43, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Do not re-add it unless you have an explanation. This is not how discussions are done. You are triggering an edit war.--Let There Be Sunshine 15:21, 24 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I explained it many times. even your point is not clear. removing them from star cast because of benefit of doubt doesn't make this article complete or true. Adding the star cast = not adding the star cast in this case of your explanation my point is clear there are enough reference for parvatii and nadhia... they deserve to be in star cast Yourmistake (talk) 17:18, 24 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing does not guarantee inclusion. You need to read this discussion once more to know why. You said you want a third opinion, but you are not willing to wait for it and instead re-adding it through edit war.--Let There Be Sunshine 17:50, 24 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Apart, you still haven't answered some of the questions I raised. Where did you get the cast order from ? How can you know that parvati has more screen space and Nadhiya has less ? Still haven't replied about some of the contradicting reports I listed. Besides, terms like "female lead" are decorative words used by media (most commonly by Indian media). A film does not categorize lead roles based on gender, otherwise it should be an ensemble cast (even for that, we do not classify like that).--Let There Be Sunshine 18:32, 24 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello I dont Know why are you people doing this,,, I m not trying to change anything .. I know you have good circle in wikipedia.. am not here for a edit war. I dont have any problem if you trying to change n make trouble in Parvatii_Nair page.if you want to play a fair game stop it. because of me dont try to make difficulties to some hardworking girl. do you have any personal problem with her? am not changing anything in neerali again. Yourmistake (talk) 20:01, 25 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

And other questions.parvatii nair was there from the first day shoot of neerali. there are alot of references regarding it.and nadia casted in the middle of shoot. when our edit dispute started I made a research on this subject. Am someone who works in malayalam film industry I can easily get the info. I know that is not relevant here.I even researched on previous film of same production nimir.same problem happened even there.and we know how it ended up. so from now on am not editing in neerali. am sorry if i did any trouble to you. thank you Yourmistake (talk) 20:29, 25 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

3O Response: It does seem that news reports differ between Parvatii Nair and Nadhiya Moidu as the female lead (yes, that is a genuine category; that's why they have Best Leading Actress awards at awards ceremonies), so it might be best not to have either of them in the first sentence of the article or in the infobox. But there is certainly no reason to exclude them and others from the article altogether. I suggest something like, "Nadhiya Moidu plays the main character's wife, Parvatii Nair has a major role, and Suraj Venjaramoodu and Saikumar also appear." All of that is adequately sourced in the refs in the article and on this page. Scolaire (talk) 12:05, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

That's exactly what I suggested in my third reply above, to explain that in the article body instead of adding in infobox and lead. About the category, there are only leading and supporting roles, but awards are gender classified, we don't follow that in articles. Award categories and respective nominations are sometimes strange as well, Get Out for Musical or Comedy is the latest example I can remember. --Let There Be Sunshine 12:40, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Then would you consider adding it yourself, when page protection ends tomorrow, and ask Yourmistake whether he thinks it's a reasonable compromise? You might also consider continuing the discussion on the article talk page instead of a user talk page. Scolaire (talk) 13:45, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not only that, I am intending to add many more updates on the page, but not tomorrow. Yourmistake has already ended the discussion. There are more things (some insights) you don't know about this discussion, which I can't tell you right now (unless you want it emailed).--Let There Be Sunshine 14:27, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

brother , hope you seen the new poster of neerali .. I changed the cast according to the poster credit.. I am not interfered your cast changes before because I understood you changed it seeing the teaser. hope my changes is fine with you. thank you Yourmistake (talk) 09:29, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Tony bro , why did you change the official poster and credit order .. we all know by trailer, posters all who all starring the movie Yourmistake (talk) 19:28, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pls watch the latest trailer and latest poster upload the super star himself. I dont want to fight pls understand and tell a solution Yourmistake (talk) 19:44, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yourmistake, what do you mean by we all know by trailer, posters all who all starring the movie ? Trailer doesn't display any cast order supporting your ordering. Beside you changed the poster of the film removing the first file uploaded File:Neerali film poster.jpg for keeping your newly uploaded one and even nominated for deletion for removing it forever. You removed the cast names. Replaced Suraj Venjaramoodu to lower position. According to source, he along with Mohanlal has the most screen space in the film (rightfully his name should come below Mohanlal's). And do not make logged out edits, especially disruptive ones.--Let There Be Sunshine 20:10, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

please be careful when you judge and warn someone saying about log out edits... why did you think suraj doing main roles after mohanlal... film is not released by trailers and poster only we can say the cast order,,, I am ok if the cast order is mohanlal,nadiya,parvatii,suraj... pls stop making trouble in parvatii nair page because of the dispute in neerali page . its not good for a good wikipedia editor. if you are not a paid editor Yourmistake (talk) 20:19, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yourmistake: Oh I know who you are. The only reason you are still editing is I haven't filed an SPI. About Suraj, can't you read what I said, or perceive anything from my edit summary ? Per this source, Suraj has the most screen space apart from Mohanlal. Now you tell me how did you gauged your version of cast order from trailer and posters. You removed mass content from Parvatii Nair's page without even an explanation, repeated the same and even lied like all others are fools. And now you are teaching others how to be a good Wiki editor ? You have already violated 3RR in both pages.--Let There Be Sunshine 20:40, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, there also seems to be a fight going on between related people one for and against adding Parvatii Nair. All of them seem to be related to the actress. I don't see any reason to fight over adding her name in the infobox or any other sentences or Leave the article as it is. We should not be editing the article for personal matters like soft-corner or vendetta. Also, this article is not in encyclopedia format and needs a lot of modifications and people can contribute and add lots of facts regarding the movie to make it more complete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.5.111.108 (talk) 09:56, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

What is not in encyclopedia format in this article ? What modifications are you suggesting ? Can you specify that "facts" you are talking about ?--Let There Be Sunshine 10:48, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

1. The Production and Financial information provided in the article doesn't have any reference 2. The poster in the infobox can be updated to the poster which has been termed as the official poster of the movie and was released by Mohanlal [1]

There are lot more improvements that can be made. Encyclopedia format is in reference to the use of English language Szzs.vsn (talk) 12:53, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

The production and financial details are clearly referenced. Point out the exact sentence which is not sourced. The current poster is an official poster released by the production team and there are more. The poster you are referring is a quad poster the sockpuppets are struggling to add to shamelessly promote actress Parvatii Nair since it also features her. What are the other "lot more improvements" and betterment in English language you were implying ? Elaborate.--Let There Be Sunshine 13:21, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

--Let There Be Sunshine That news article that has been referenced previously is a valid proof that it was indeed the official poster of the movie not the one that is currently being displayed. Its validity has been confirmed by Mohanlal Sir himself. So it is the only poster certified as official poster by him. Hence I am changing the poster to the one which has been certified officially. If you have any suggestions let me know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seetharaghavan (talkcontribs) 12:39, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Seetharaghavan: I did not said that the poster you are referring is not an official poster. Mohanlal has shared other posters too in his Facebook page. Haven't you seen that ? Of course you haven't, as the only poster you want here is the one promoting Parvatii Nair. And it's a square poster designed to fit as a Facebook profile picture. The official posters do not limit to the posters shared by Mohanlal. The current poster is also an official poster released by the production team and there are numerous other posters. All posters can be seen in the verified Facebook page of Neerali, Mohanlal and other crew members. What do you want to edit ?--Let There Be Sunshine 14:47, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

The edits made by me are proper and most of them are Language corrections. The cast details are well established through most of the reference provided in the article itself. Also, I closed lots of missing link through my edits. There doesn't seem to be any legitimate reason for reversing my edits. Please explain the Edits.DunsonDavis (talk) 11:56, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have already mentioned the reasons in my edit summary. What language did you corrected ? Most of the the edits done by you were erroneous and unnecessary. It actually did the opposite. Besides, this article was already copyedited for language corrections on 28 May 2018 by an experienced proofreader and a member of Wikipedia's copyeditors' guild. You did not added or removed any cast credits, but separated it into 2 sections as seen in IMDb page. We don't use IMDb as a reference here or follow it's style, as it is an unreliable source. And what do you mean by "closed lots of missing links" ? Specify that. Only thing you did was swap the author names and titles here and there in the referencing template. For what purpose ? --Let There Be Sunshine 14:47, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I edited the article to improve the readability and organization. I also added references to the facts mentioned in the introduction part. Nobody needs to take your word for copy editing. You have been blocking all reasonable changes in the article without any explanations. Your explanations are that it's unnecessary which is not an explanation. Please give reasons why we should not include the core cast members in the introduction and infobox, which has been well established from multiple references given in the article. Why shouldn't we add a reference to the announcement of the release date? Why we should not mention that the Principal photography was completed in a record timing of 36 days with proper reference [2]. Why we should not add the genre to the movie while the movie director has mentioned it to be Drama Thriller in a news minute interview [3]. Why we should not change the poster that is on display with the only poster that has been mentioned as official poster.[4] You cant argue that all posters are official. The word "official" has been mentioned in only one poster release. DunsonDavis (talk) 15:25, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have done nothing but disruptive editing. If you don't understand I can explain it for you. In this edit, you made multiple links for the same pages in a single section. In a section, a word/name already linked should not be linked again in the same section, it is over linking. Besides, you have also broken some links - Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saikumar, Nassar & Bineesh Kodiyeri: you made Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nassar a redirect link, re-targeted Saikumar to a disambiguation page and red linked Bineesh Kodiyeri (names of living persons should not be red linked) - These are actually destructive changes to the article. You don't even know the basic Wikipedia policies and is edit warring over things you don't have knowledge about. This is only about the linking, if you specify more of your "several such changes" which you believe to have "improved", I can point out more of your destructive edits in this page.--Let There Be Sunshine 17:25, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflict)About the [[WP:3O|Third Opinion request: The request made at Third Opinion has been removed (i.e. declined). Like all other moderated content dispute resolution venues at Wikipedia, Third Opinion requires thorough talk page discussion before seeking assistance. What's set out above is a good beginning of a discussion, but at this point you're asking one another questions that the other party is not answering and you're talking past one another. You need to discuss with one another not talk at one another. If an editor will not respond, consider the recommendations which are made here. Moreover, it's not clear if the discussion prior to 14:47, 4 June 2018, are or are not part of this discussion. If they are, then more than two parties are involved in the discussion and Third Opinion is not available since it's only for disputes between exactly two editors. If 3O is not available, consider using Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. Finally, discussion is to take place here on the talk page, not through edit summaries; if you've made an argument in edit summaries, please repeat it here as dispute resolution volunteers aren't going to search through edit summaries to try to sift out your position. — TransporterMan (TALK) 17:04, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

(Talk)Sorry. I am new to Wikipedia Editing didn't exactly knew what to do when all the contribution I make are being reversed. But I have been adding lots of references to support my edits. and the response I get is little unreasonable in some cases. For example in the Infobox Starring edit, there is no need for dispute as the core cast is well established by several sources. I could get a consensus on that. Also the genre, It has been clearly quoted by the director that its a "Drama Thriller" but couldn't get a consensus on that as well. Sorry if I have violated policy. I am willing to learn and contribute. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DunsonDavis (talkcontribs) 17:51, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Lol. DunsonDavis thinks other Wikipedia editors can be fooled. The 3O responded TransporterMan probably have seen the discussion at your talk page too, where the reason for this is explained. You still haven't explained your absurd rationale for the starring credits order added in the lead and infobox.--Let There Be Sunshine 18:14, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
--Let There Be Sunshine Who is fooling here?? I have given explaination for the addition of Genre. All the articles provided by you are outside opinion and the I have provided an interview quote from the director. I have explained it in my talk page as well. Stop bullying people away from a open source platform. Also the rationale is for the order of castmembers is coz we dont know the exact screen presence of each one until the release of the movie and but they have been confirmed to be the core cast members. Also give your logic why this rationale should not be used for arranging the cast? Coz you other rationale like screen presence, Importance of the role played etc., will be subjective. Also, answer my previous questions. Also explain why you have been blocking even minor changes like adding links to other Wikipedia pages, adding more reference, adding production details etc. Please don't say it's not needed because more references will make the article more authentic. Please don't say its over Kill because I added only a few references from reputed sources.
You still haven't answered the questions I asked you here and in your talk page. First you answer that. You are still asking the same questions which has been already answered above, including your added links, references and other changes. Is this your strategy for skipping the questions ? Because you are starting new discussions for things which have been already explained. Why can't you respond directly under where those specific discussion are taking place ? Oh yes, else you cannot skip it. You said cast can be arranged in the order they were hired ? Who said that to you ? That's absurd.--Let There Be Sunshine 09:19, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

They don't need to write that, because it's the official page of the film. The one that you provided is a third party source, they need to say that it's "official poster" as they are not the publishing authority. Third party sources publishes poster by copy pasting from official pages. After all, how does a poster published by the official page not official ? These are weak and ridiculous arguments you are making to insist on keeping a poster featuring Parvatii Nair on an attempt to promote her. Another thing, the poster designer of Neerali is Oldmonks, it's same for the current, it's credited in the poster itself. Anyway, lets play this on your way. Here is the third party source. Lol.--Let There Be Sunshine 12:34, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
The official page does say that the poster I am saying is official. This is not weak arguement. They have published several poster but have mentioned official in only that poster. Please take a look at the reference. [3] DunsonDavis (talk) 13:20, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

:And regarding this edit - No matter how many sources says the release date as June 14. It's out-of-date as the film's release date has been officially changed to June 15. You are adding erroneous data to the article.--Let There Be Sunshine 16:53, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please provide a reference. Or lets remove th release date until its confirmed. Lets wait for the release and update later.

:Lol. There is already reference in the Release section with old and postponed (current) release dates. June 15 is officially confirmed, just search the posts at producer Santhosh T. Kuruvilla's Facebook page or of other crew members [11]. What about the question I asked about the cast order ? It's me who is replying and providing references all the time, while you skip questions here and at the page talk.--Let There Be Sunshine 18:02, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

--Let There Be Sunshine 09:40, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have provided other references saying a different date. You have not explained why we should have a disputed content on the article.DunsonDavis (talk) 09:55, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Can't you read ? I have already explained why references you provide is not valid anymore. Date is postponed and given above is a source directly from its producer and has also added a third party reference in the article.--Let There Be Sunshine 10:22, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yeah the release date you provided seems to be correct. Thank you for the information. I cant read Malayalam and all the reference were Malayalam. Please add the link you provided now to the references. All the English news said its June 14th.
Okay, I will add that too since there is a confusion.--Let There Be Sunshine 10:52, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Starring Discussion edit

About section of the official verified Facebook Page[1] of the movie says the movie stars Mohanlal, Suraj Venjaramood, Nassar, Dileesh Pothan, Nadhiya Moidu, Parvathy Nair. Can we add the starring details to the Info box and split the cast section accordingly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DunsonDavis (talkcontribs) 08:17, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

This can be used to arrange the cast in the Cast section for now. Cast in the lead and infobox (and also cast section) are arranged based on the onscreen credit order and poster billing. Film is yet to release, it's good to wait. BTW, why do you want to split the cast section ? --Let There Be Sunshine 09:40, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
The official Facebook page says starring. So there should not be any issue with adding in the infobox. The source is proper. Splitting the cast section will help people differentiate between the core cast and other.DunsonDavis (talk) 09:55, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Starring order in the infobox is based on the poster billing. Onscreen credit order is the secondary resort, if it's not available. How do you know who are core cast and secondary cast ? Don't say IMDb. --Let There Be Sunshine 10:22, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have provided the official facebook page as reference Cant you see that.
Lol. Seems like I am the only one who sees; and has replied to it just above this, while you keep repeating the same thing again and again instead of continuing the discussion by replying to what I said above. You use a weak strategy in argument, this is not how consensus is reached. This discussion will not reach anywhere if you keep doing this. You may want to read this entire discussion once more.--Let There Be Sunshine 10:44, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
What part of the word "Starring" you don't understand. The official page says the movie stars the following people. Mohanlal, Suraj Venjaramood, Nassar, Dileesh Pothan, Nadhiya Moidu, Parvathy Nair. I don't understand your argument.
That's because you are arguing over something you don't have knowledge about. Infobox starring credits are added based on the credit order in the poster billing. Otherwise it is based on the onscreen end credits or opening credits. Although, the order from Facebook page can be used to arrange cast in the Cast section for now, since there is no choice there other than to arrange it in some order. But infobox and lead ordering is avoidable, until the film's release. If the film don't have cast credits, this order can be used as a last resort.--Let There Be Sunshine 11:17, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't see a reason for not adding in the infobox. You also have been repeating the same thing even though now a good source supporting the addition has been given. I am trying to give the best possible infrormation at this point of time. There is no reason for not using an offical information provided.DunsonDavis (talk) 11:36, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
It's because you are repeating the same thing again and again and I have no option other than to explain it again (but not anymore). This is what happens when we argue with imbeciles. And you are still repeating the same thing again like you don't know how to read English. The reason why you can't use that order is already explained above. Now don't ask that again. Read the discussion once more, if you are willing to.--Let There Be Sunshine 12:34, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Both of you seem "imbeciles" (borrowing User:Let There Be Sunshine's language) to me. Arguing over silly matters. And User:Let There Be Sunshine, please try not to behave as if you own the entire Wikipedia. What right do you have to describe a talk page discussion as an "argument with an imbecile"? You can report the user for edit warring but to make such a personal remark for whatsoever reason is totally uncalled for. And such a remark is coming from a user who has been accused for lying and paid promotion in Wikipedia. 2405:204:D184:894A:7904:837F:3085:E7A7 (talk) 23:15, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Acceptable and unacceptable to whom ? There's no proper source. Makers have not published the cast order through media or media themselves have not followed any specific order. Different media outlet have listed the cast order differently. You just come up with a report that favours your version. And, starring and cast are different, not all cast have "starring" roles in a film (lead), and cast in infobox is per poster billing, only Mohanlal's name is billed in poster. For released films, cast section is arranged per film credits. And DBigXray, you should have read the article body before removing names. There is a large chunk of this discussion above, with all those accounts blocked indefinitely. Sockmaster is a person who promotes Parvatii Nair in every films she acted, by pushing her name to a superior position in the star cast. Neerali is her latest appearance and now the circus is here. Anyway, the film releases in one day, I hope this gets an answer tomorrow.--Let There Be Sunshine 08:09, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Please mention a media who followed your cast order? Sameershan (talk) 09:08, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • hi User:Let There Be Sunshine the Actor followed by actress followed by supporting actors is the norm. the actor / actress name is listed in the news reports. The unverified names cannot be added to the article. Kindly self revert or provide refs for your edit per WP:BURDEN As Sameer has asked above --DBigXray 10:55, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • starcast by ToI should answer most of the questions. Parvatii Nair indeed has an important role. Accordingly I have updated with this source. Kindly do not revert without getting a WP:CONSENSUS here. --DBigXray 15:04, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • DBigXray: It's lead actor(s) followed by supporting actor(s), not "Actor followed by actress followed by supporting actors". Yes, names are mentioned in news reports, but no order is shown. Against the reference[15] you used for reordering, here are some contradicting orders - [16], [17], [18], [19], [20], [21], [22]. You removed already verified names (Saikumar & Megha) sourced in the body. Any explanation ? Santhosh and Bineesh are present in the trailer and promotional materials of the film (source added). And, I have restored the cast order to the very old version before the change, now there is no "my version", and do not revert to "your version" until a consensus is reached.--Let There Be Sunshine 18:23, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Additional comment: Apart from Mohanlal, Suraj has more screen time (sourced in body), naturally his name comes second, whatever the order is. See this: It is a Lalettan [Mohanlal] film and we are all there to support him, says Nadhiya. Apart from Mohanlal, all others are supporting actors.--Let There Be Sunshine 18:23, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • hi User:Let There Be Sunshine You have to understand that the Wikipedia article is not an indiscriminate list of all the actors in the movie that you see in Posters or trailers etc etc. Only the notable actors having Pivotal role can be listed and only in the order of Important Roles.
  • You have failed to establish the notability of the names you keep adding into the list, just a mere mention in obscure blogs does not merit adding into the star cast list.
  • Kindly mention the list That you want to add, and give an explanation of why each name deserves to be added. (No, asking to read this and that does not count as a justification) Also make sure to provide WP:RS for your claims so that it can be verified.
  • you keep adding the producers name into the list, when none of the reliable WP:MAINSTREAM source mentions Kuruvilla as an actor here,
  • Accordingly based on the WP:MAINSTREAM sources, I have removed non notable names and listed the actors in the order of their roles. see Quotes below.
  • Discuss here first, create Consensus for your edits. And only then make changes in the Article Star cast.
  • any attempts to game the WP:CONSENSUS or WP:BRD policy and editwarring a preferred version of the starcast list will only look bad on you and will possibly lead to blocks. So Kindly take this discussion seriously
  • I am sharing the Quotes from the Mainstream news pages that establish the StarCast.
  • Apart from Mohanlal and Parvatii, Nadhiya Moidu and Suraj Venjaramoodu will play pivotal characters in this movie which is expected to be a family thriller. The film is slated to release on June 15.

    Times of India
  • Neerali movie cast Mohanlal, Nadhiya, Parvatii Nair. Neerali movie director Ajoy Varma

    Indian Express
  • Interesting star cast. Apart from Mohanlal and Nadiya Moidu, actress Parvatii Nair too plays an important role in the film. Others in supporting roles include Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saikumar, Dileesh Pothan and Nassar.

  • Times Of India
  • Nadia Moidu, who made her debut in movies with Mohanlal in Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, and Parvathy Nair play the female leads. Suraj Venjarammoodu, Nasser and Dileesh Pothen include the cast.

  • Sify Movies
  • Final Notable Star list based on review of all Major sources. (disregarding trailors posters etc). (And all of these actors have their own wiki Bio, surprising isnt it ? )
Mohanlal as Sunny George
Nadhiya as Mollykutty
Parvatii Nair as Naina
Suraj Venjaramoodu as Veerappa
Dileesh Pothan as Rajan
Saikumar
Nassar as George
Megha Mathew -> not listed, failed notability
Bineesh Kodiyeri -> failed notability.
Santhosh T. Kuruvilla not listed. is Producer. (cameo role maybe?)
  • Based on these mainstream sources only the list above that I wrote seems justified. According to me even MEgha Matthew does not merit addition in the list. hence I suggest removing her name from the list. --DBigXray 18:51, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • DBigXray: You are literally edit warring by reversing the page back to your version [23]. Reverting each time when you make a comment on talk page is not how consensus is reached. The irony is that you still preach about reaching consensus here first before changing, yet you did the opposite. Your actions and comments do not match.
  • This film only have a handful of actors, so an indiscriminate list cannot be added. Obviously a film's posters or trailer feature only the prominent cast. "only in the order of Important Roles" is not true. Some films itself do not follow it in their opening/end credits, which is always the reference for arranging cast in Wiki. Bineesh and Santhosh are mentioned in The News Minute [24]. Megha even have an independant article in the Deccan Chronicle [25] - From supporting roles, she has grown into playing key characters in Ajoy Varma's Neerali .... You were talking about ordering the cast based on importance, yet you ignored the fact that Suraj has the most screen time other than Mohanlal [26].
  • I am not sure that if you were telling me the actors listed should be notable, that is, they should have Wiki articles. If so, that is a senseless argument. Directors can cast non notable actors and even non-actors in lead or pivotal roles. They may not have Wiki bios.--Let There Be Sunshine 11:39, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Please read WP:CONSENSUS first, you seem to have a wrong understanding of the consensus. When 2 editors have a dispute and they start a discussion, and a third uninvolved editor, reverts one of the 2 involved editors, it does not mean the involved editor (you) have the right to go and revert. that is against consensus. see WP:IMPLICITCONSENSUS
  • Nothing what you call as obvious is obvious. And No, being shown in the trailer or Poster does not mean the actor has a significant or notable role in the movie. he may be present in a significant scene in the movie but does not mean his role is notable. His being shown in the trailer is also not a guarantee that he will be present in the final movie. Many times, due to censor or time constraints several scenes are cut in the final movie that is released. It is not uncommon to find actors in trailors but missing in the final movie.
  • I dont care handful or 100 actors. Having been listed in the "Movie credit" and "end credit list" is not a criteria for selection of wikipedia starcast. if you think so, then you are mistaken. All I care is only notable actors with "Significant" media coverage of their roles in mainstream media articles with the main topic of the article as the movie can be listed. As per WP:V and WP:N. If multiple mainstream media source discuss a movie and mention a list of actors as notable actors in the movie then only it makes sense to add his name in the list. or else even a actor with a role of 1 scene as watchman will give an interview and claim he acted in so and so movie and deserves a mention in the wikipedia article. That will be WP:INDISCRIMINATE and WP:NOTYELLOW
  • You can disagree with my opinion, thats ok. but you have to state your own opinion and a reasonable justification for your arguement per policies and also reliable sources for it. --DBigXray 11:57, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Don't forget that you are not an uninvolved editor. You cannot revert either. Film credits is always used as reference to "order" cast in film articles, especially when disputed. You have misunderstood that it's not about selecting star cast. WP:N is for articles, not for individual entries on an article. This is not their BLP page. Per WP:V, it is verified by the TNM reference. Posters do not feature trivial actors. You once again skipped the fact about Suraj's role.--Let There Be Sunshine 13:40, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • No, FILM CREDITS are NOT always used to "order" cast. More often than not, the credits are in order of appearance in the movie. FILM credits can be used to verify the name but not for deciding order.
  • yes, WP:N is also valid here on choosing what names from the star cast of the movie. deserve to be listed here.
  • Notability requires verifiable evidence, but Just because it is verifiable does not mean Notable. TNM has a passing mention that other mainstream sites chose to ignore for obvious reasons.
  • I have seen several posters showing a major action scene and featuring trivial actors in that scene. So Posters does sometime feature trivial actors.
  • what fact about Suraj's role ? where is the source ? also reply to question below. --DBigXray 20:36, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • It's always the reference for ordering, especially when disputed or has an ensemble cast. See hidden notes in films such as, but not limited to Black Panther, Gemini, Transformers etc. Except when it is "in order of appearance", which is less often than the other, we all see movies.
  • On what ground does WP:N applies here ? Directors can select non notable actors or even non-actors for lead or supporting roles.
  • Again, who said they should be notable ? It's based on their importance in the film. It still is verified. Other sources ignoring doesn't mean they have trivial roles. Bineesh being a comparatively lesser known actor possibly be the reason, & Santhosh is not an actor at all. What is obvious here ?
  • More reliable Malayalam news sources claiming Bineesh has important role - Mangalam [27], Kalakaumudi [28], The Indian Express Malayalam [29], Malayala Manorama [30], Mathrubhumi [31]. Use Google translate.
  • I don't even have to argue to prove posters features only important actors. Which film was you talking about anyway ?
  • That's very convenient for you to selectively miss that each time. You were the one arguing about actor's prominence. Suraj has the most screen time other than Mohanlal [32].--Let There Be Sunshine 20:02, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • The links you posted with Malyalam text feature posters showing Mohan with the 2 actors :D . Anyway, Posters are not going to decide the notabilit of the role.
  • The driver claims he has longest screen time. first of all this is WP:PRIMARY source, he is speaking good things about himself. Even if he is correct, the trailer shows him dead/unconcious in the driver's seat most of the time, yes, that would sure beef up his screen time. His role importance ? not so much. So kindly do not argue about the screen time is same as strong role. this is a fallacious argument.
  • Thanks for sharign your opnion. Now kindly share the list here on the talk page, along with your preferred order. and then share the Quotes with RS (in the format that I posted above. Be liberal in writing at length providing justification if you want names added and why. that will help us reach a consensus faster. --DBigXray 22:20, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

--Let There Be Sunshine. Hope you seen the movie . The movie Title credit order is Mohanlal,Nadhya,Parvatii Nair. And you said that verified Facebook page can't use because its not trustable. then how did you update current poster?. In the above discussion some editors clearly mentioned about the official poster with the news article references.

It's an official poster [36], and there are several other posters as well. The Facebook page is a verified page, which means it's official and the content published on that page is official as well. Cast ordering in it was not used as it was unstable and frequently changing.--Let There Be Sunshine 20:02, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
