I rewrote extensively. Most of it was just copy-editing and re-arranging. It would be nice to have a picture and an infobox; his major films need to have dates added and should be re-arranged in chronological order; and it would be nice to have a discography in case anyone felt like ordering some CDs after reading about him. A genius a proud Indian. India is proud of him. We like all including the Punjabi but do not call a U.P. guy a Punjabi the consequences will be serious. Punjabi must work further with their beloved Jews. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.182.31.129 (talk) 17:15, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Since when has Lucknow become a Punjabi City ? One might as well call Berlin as Vietnamese city !

Such glaring error reduces the trustworthiness of Wikipedia.

My dumb mistake, I've never been to India and I was thinking of Lahore. I'll fix it. But ... thanks to the wonder of WP, you can tell me I was an idjit and I can correct the error. Try that with Britannica! :) Zora 10:46, 8 May 2006 (UTC) (thi idjit)Reply

This article needs a major clean up

edit

The death 19th August is incorrect. On 19th August, Mr. Khayyam has passed away. The date mentioned on the site of Mr. Naushad is correct.

This article needs a major clean up. There is too much of redundant information. And also we need more information like Nashad composed music for the famous TV serial “The sword of Tipu Sultan”. Hats off to Nashad, there will be no one like him ever again.

In Baiju Bawra, 'Amir Khan' and 'D V Paluskar' didn't make a debut. Ust Amir Khan was one of 20th century's most illustrious classical vocalists, so was DV sahab. They agreed to sing for the movie only because Naushad was composing. They were at the forefront of Hindustani classical music at that time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.68.29.162 (talk) 13:52, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Section moved here from article

edit

The following section was posted as trivia in the article, but it appears to be a discussion about Naushad's music. I moved it here, but have no input to the discussion because I'm not familiar with the subject. --Bonadea (talk) 10:16, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

proposed move

edit

I moved Naushad to Naushad Ali on the assumption that this would not be contentious. On my talk page the following comments appeared:

The reason I moved it was so that I could then turn Naushad into a disambiguation page covering this name in its various spellings. This seems appropriate because

  • there are 5 wikipedia articles about persons who have "Naushad" as one of their names
  • there is a composer called Nashad, whose article I also intended to move
  • there is a disambiguation page Nowshad, referring to the same Urdu/Persian/Arabic spelling, which I intended to incorporate in the new disambiguation page
  • there are a couple of "Noshad"s, similarly

SamuelTheGhost (talk) 12:31, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

In such case, you can create a Naushad (disambiguation) where all other Naushads, Nashads and Nowshads can be included. This article is a WP:Primary Topic and should stay here. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:32, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
