Moses, Notre Dame → Statue of Moses – Per WP:VAMOS, which says: "For portrait sculptures of individuals in public places the forms "Statue of Fred Foo", "Equestrian statue of Fred Foo" or "Bust of Fred Foo" are recommended, unless a form such as "Fred Foo Memorial" or "Monument to Fred Foo" is the WP:COMMONNAME. If further disambiguation is needed, because there is more than one sculpture of the same person with an article, then disambiguation by location rather than the sculptor is usually better. This may be done as either "Statue of Fred Foo (Chicago)" (typically preferred for North America) or "Statue of Fred Foo, Glasgow" (typically preferred elsewhere)." If editors feel additional disambiguation is required -- see Moses (Michelangelo) -- then perhaps Statue of Moses (University of Notre Dame). - My suggestion is based on the article as it reads today, which states that the statue is named Moses. I'm not an expert on this statue, nor have I done any analysis of secondary sources relating to it, and therefore have no objection to "Statue of Moses (University of Notre Dame)" as the article title. 162 etc. (talk) 17:23, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Moses Statue of Moses (University of Notre Dame) works keeping the name of the statue [edit: per below source search, likely needs the disamb. since other famous statues of Moses exist, and would change this back if a source or two are found]. This isn't actually a portrait statue as it has other notable elements - the Ten Commandments, the bull, the notable pointing finger, etc. (portraits, per lead language, focus almost entirely on the faces or busts of their subjects). - Went looking and did no better, so yes, can't be sure as of now that the sculptor named the statue simply Moses. I like First Down Moses but that, of course, was not the sculptor's original name. - Move to Statue of Moses (University of Notre Dame). I assumed from the current title it was in the Paris Cathedral, as would most of the world. "Touch Down Moses" is a nickname not worthy of being the title, and probably only known locally.
