IMDB is often wrong. Please remove "Family Bond" from the page or get a better source.

I was just thinking while the section is organized by show, movie, ect. te area should just be murged with the Miley Cyrus drop down menu, mainly because other singles basically keeps it from being unorganized. Nashville or Franklin?

According to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1415323/bio, she was born in Franklin, TN. However other sources say it's Nashville, and she even mentions Nashville as her hometown in "Party in the USA".

Anyone please clarify this for me?

According to the {{Infobox musical artist}} instructions for "|Associated_acts=", this field is for "professional relationships with other musicians or bands that are significant and notable to this artist's career" and can include (for example), groups of which Miley Cyrus has been a member and other acts with which Miley Cyrus has collaborated on multiple occasions, or on an album, or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together". As of now there are fifteen acts listed but I can't find evidence justifying inclusion several of them in the list. Orphaned references in Miley Cyrus

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Miley Cyrus's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Well, uh, in the first place, the page is 'semi-protected' which means that any registered user, like yourself, can edit it - WP:BOLD. Secondly, "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y". Thirdly, you'll need to come up with an image yourself. Preferably it should be one you took. We can't just go to the Internet and steal a photo. It needs to meet copyright criteria, or at the very least be a 'fair use' under copyright law. Sometimes your best bet is to search Flickr for a photo with a Creative Commons license that is suitable for use here on Wikipedia. Good luck. Elizium23 (talk) 22:16, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

fix external link section.

I do not have a wikipedia account, and I think that you have to wait a certain number of days before changing information in certain articles. Anyway, can somebody PLEASE delete the information in the external links section that talks about someone's obviously personal view of miley cyrus as this is supposed to provide unbiased information.

It really annoys me that people feel they can do this. This is what leads to people thinking wikipedia never has useful information, and it would also quite offend some people who like miley cyrus. It's mostly just really unprofessional.

Also, does anyone know if it's possible to bring this kind of information to someone who has the power to block users? I looked at the user's talk page (headstrong_neiva) and they have posted in several places deliberately wrong information. It seems kind of unfair to let them continue. Maybe I am being too harsh about it, but this is trolling in the bad way. It's not even amusing comments or anything.

Half-siblings not the result of marriage

In the "Early Life" section, it mentions that her parents' marriage gave Miley three half-siblings. They would be her half-siblings whether her parents were married or not. The article refers to Cyrus' "solo" career as starting with her first recording under her own name. In fact, Cyrus has always been a solo artist, both under her stage name, Hannah Montana, and under her own name, so the term "solo" in this article is used incorrectly (the fact that Cyrus herself when she was 14 often made the same misuse of the term, "solo" does not excuse the fact that it is stylistically incorrect). In fact, the first season soundtrack, "Hannah Montana", was her first solo album, not "Breakout" as the article claims. "Breakout" is her second album under her own name, as "Meet Miley Cyrus" was her first album under her own name. "Meet Miley Cyrus" was bundled with the second-season Hannah Montana soundtrack, but it was in fact a separate album on the Hollywood Records label, as opposed to "Hannah Montana 2" which was on the Walt Disney Records label. The fact that the two albums were sold in a single package does not change the fact that they were two separate albums and always intended as such. Also, the first line states twice that Cyrus is a "singer". Bad style and repetitive. Recent issues with her dad

He gave an interview to GQ magazine, saying the show Hannah Montana destroyed his family, that he would take it all back for them to be a normal family, etc. He later had two scheduled TV interviews to further discuss his thoughts, but Miley convinced him to cancel those appearances to not hurt their relationship even more. I think it's inappropriate to go into details here. But they aren't really divorced yet. The whole thing was withdrawn. And perhaps you should mention she's working on her new album with Dr. Luke. Miley Cyrus status as a Christian and Southern Baptist

Miley and her church attendance has been widely known, but I have now found a reliable reference that confirms that Miley Cyrus went to church, at least as a child, at First Baptist Church (aka The People's Church), a Southern Baptist Congregation and Willow Creek Association Member, in Nashville, Tennessee. Relevance is due to the fact the article claims the concatenation that Cyrus in "American Christians" and "Southern Baptists", without discernible references. You may note the Fox News reference which is meant to reference "She was raised Christian and was baptized in a Southern Baptist church prior to moving to Hollywood in 2005. She attended church regularly while growing up and wore a purity ring". This is beyond what is stated in the article, as it only talks about purity rings; hardly even church attendance. Even though we all empirically know Cyrus to attend Church, and her baptism as a Southern Baptist, I would suggest a proper reference. It's understandable a news source is the best, but so far I've come up with this educational resource (http://projectshum.org/physics/1-translational-motion/), which confirms this by the following statement: "So Miley, if we walk from the Disney Channel studios (3800 Alameda Ave, Burbank CA 91505), all the way to church (First Baptist “The People’s” Church, 828 Murfreesboro Road, Franklin, TN 37064)… and bank. What is the ‘displacement’ traveled? It’s a trick question! A very small number… zero; because the essential distance traveled is 0.". I raise it here because the resource is a physics lecturing resource about translational motion, created as a study resource rather than as a recount of history. Hemsworth

The on again/off again section re: Hemsworth reads like parody. Do we really need a blow by blow, with references? Suffice it to say they have dated in the past and ONE reference to where the relationship is now. We don't need to know that they were together, broke up, got back together, broke up again and got back together again. Image placement

Images should generally be placed on the right. However there's nothing stopping images being shifted to the left if there is a need. One place left-aligned images should never be placed though is immediately after headings, as this breaks the text flow, distracting the reader. MOS:IMAGES says that "It is often preferable to place images of faces so that the face or eyes look toward the text." It also says "However, images should not be reversed simply to resolve a conflict between these guidelines; doing so misinforms the reader for the sake of our layout preferences". The spirit of this also applies to locating images on the left, just so the eyes look towards the text, as has been done here. Breaking the text flow just so that eyes look towards the text really can't be justified. Neither can forcing an image size for reasons that haven't been explained. This article inaccurately claims that Miley Cyrus was not topless on the cover of Vanity Fair. That is wrong. Miley Cyrus was topless on the cover of Vanity Fair. If a girl is not wearing any clothes from waist up, she is topless. Miley Cyrus was not wearing any clothes above the waist, and was therefore topless. The fact that she was also holding a sheet over her breasts is irrelevant. It sounds like people are confusing being topless with with the breasts being visible. If a woman was not wearing any clothes above the waist, and she was standing with her back towards you, would you say the woman was "not topless" because you personally can't see her breasts? Miley Cyrus was not wearing any clothes from the waist up, and was therefore topless, and was also holding a sheet over her bare breasts, so her breasts were not visible. If instead of holding a sheet over her bare breasts, she was holding her hands over her bare breasts, would you say she was not topless? It was initially ACCURATELY reported that she was topless on the cover of Vanity Fair, and then after that, it was INACCURATELY reported in the New York Times, that she was not topless. People are apparently confusing topless with the breasts being visible. Make it clear, that Miley Cyrus was in fact topless on the cover of Vanity Fair, although her breasts were not visible because she was holding a sheet over her bare breasts.

Lead image

There is apparently a desire by one editor to use File:Miley_Cyrus_-_Gypsy_Heart_Tour_-_São_Paulo_01.jpg as the lead image rather than the existing image File:MileyCyrusApr09-edit1.jpg, apparently because the "Tour" image is "more recent". Unfortunately, it doesn't clearly show the subject's face, so it does identify the subject well. Correction regarding Franklin and Nashville

In this excerpt, Franklin is referred to as a suburb of Nashville. It is not a suburb, nor is it a part of Metropolitan Nashville or Davidson County. Franklin is the county seat of Williamson county, which is immediately to the south of Nashville.

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Miley Cyrus's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. Does anyone have any fair-use Miley pictures since she cut her hair? There are so many pictures with her long hair, it would be nice to have something more recent to represent the page. Name

Before anyone decides to revert again: The infobox title is supposed to be consistent with the article name; the article's name is "Miley Cyrus", and "Miley Cyrus" is Miley's common name. She is almost always credited as or named "Miley Cyrus". As for "Miley Ray Cyrus", that is her full name, as is stated in the article, but it's not her common name; "Miley Ray Cyrus" is appropriate in the lead sentence but not at the top of the infobox. For another example, Vanessa Hudgens' full name is "Vanessa Anne Hudgens", but the "Anne" is omitted from the infobox top. Acalamari 18:58, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

NPOV on MTV Video Awards

While I understand that many people found Cyrus' performance on the MTV Video Awards show offensive (and I am among them), I have read some supportive and nonjudgmental comments from artists in attendance at the show. I think a quote or two from them is warranted as I think they offer a contrasting view and are not "fringe", they just see the performance from an artistic perspective, not judging on whether it was culturally tasteless or racist. Neither TMZ nor Daily Mail is a banned source on Wikipedia. Neither item is guff or untrue; both are a matter of public record and easily checkable and verifiable. Parents' divorce is most certainly noteworthy and relevant to any young star's life and career. The widely viewed/read birthday-party confession and later spin-doctoring are quite relevant as they elaborate on a point recently stated and also show a duality in Cyrus's image -- what she says and/vs. what her publicists want to present her as -- and the information has been in this article for nearly two years and therefore been ostensibly vetted by countless editors as relevant. The Daily Mail, while not banned, is certainly considered tabloid journalism, and shouldn't be used to support any contentious information in BLPs or elsewhere. (See Jimbo's comments here.)

The TMZ is a similarly sensationalist, gossip-fueled non-RS source. Depending on the US state, WP:BLPCRIME may possibly apply for the 'stoner' stuff. Anyway, a teenager that has smoked pot and who's parents are divorced is completely mundane, and perfectly ordinary. Again, the items were accurate, verifiable, notable, and non-BLP violations. Cyrus lives in California, and as the previous sentence notes, has spoken many times about her current marijuana use -- which, from a former Disney child icon and role model for tots and tweens, and one of best-known stars in the world, is indeed notable. She has never been accused of a crime nor did the material say or imply that. Please do not remove information just because you do not like a source.
