More information needed

edit

This article really needs more information about who he/she is. I personally think it would be better to include this into a larger article. Pastorma (talk) 19:06, 14 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I summed up this for a friend :

Basically[1], this student in journalism Mashal Khan has been publicly criticizing his university's administration in Pakistan, himself talking to journalists.
The administration of the Abdul Wali Khan University posted a declaration of dismissal based on and together with an accusation of blasphemy, which is very dangerous in this region.
A group of hard core religious students organized a hunt and lynching.
The university concerned has a newsboard for April[2]. The April 13th board declaration[3] which lead to the lynching has been officially withdrawn, and host a long list of comments, showing that people from all around feel concern and supportive of Mr. Mashal Khan. Following weeks, 35 people have been arrested in link to the murder case.[4] On April 21st, the superintendent of AWKUM university got imprisoned on judicial remand.[5]

More information http://khybernews.tv/?s=mashal . http://khybernews.tv interviewed Mashal 2 days before his death about the university's leadership, and this interview may have been the motive for the university to brand him "blasphemous". Also, khybernews is following this story closely. --Yug (talk) 08:39, 25 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Mashal KhanDeath of Mashal Khan – the article is about Khan's death, the incident that caused it and the reaction to it. There is almost no biographical information here. Thryduulf (talk) 23:12, 15 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Thryduulf: I have added some biographical information to page. Do you think the page now qualifies to be renamed as "Mashal Khan" ? --Saqib (talk) 11:27, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

No, because the focus of the article is the incident not the person, the bigography is just background. As Khan is not notable for anything other than his death, an article focused on him would fail WP:BIO1E. Thryduulf (talk) 11:34, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

04/24-25 push

edit

Ok, I reviewed quite a deal of online sources and expanded the article further, mainly on the motive by the mob, and on arrested individuals, and on summarizing the whole into the introduction. It seems quite important to make visible 1) the Police's finding that the mob was used to take revenge upon Mashal / Abdullah for their fight against mismanagement, 2) the police is slashing on this aggressors and will be presented to special anti-terrorism court.
