Deletion of Song Covers edit
The June 28, 2017 deletion of several song covers, including the three earliest ones
- 1978: American jazz guitarist Wilbert Longmire, on his album Sunny Side Up
- 1979: British jazz fusion group Morrissey–Mullen, on their album Cape Wrath
- 1985: Italian singer, Mike Francis, on his 1985 album Features.
citing WP:SONGCOVER seems arbitrary. It is not clear why the undeleted songs in the cover list are more notable than the songs that were deleted. There is no discussion of the remaining undeleted cover songs in the article, some (most?) did not chart, and one is even a "hidden track." An argument can be made that the deleted 1978 and 1979 covers are prima facie notable as the historically earliest covers, coming so quickly after the original release in 1977. With the first cover songs deleted, the reader is left with the impression that no notable artists covered this song until 1990, which is historically incorrect.
