Vancouver vs. Toronto edit

We should break this list down by location in Canada. - Peregrine Fisher 02:36, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

That makes sense. It'll take a bit of time to research, but should be worth it in the end. --Arctic Gnome 02:44, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
This will not be completely clear. Some shows are filmed in both Toronto and Vancouver (or elsewhere), and some shows (e.g. Sliders and X-Files) were partly filmed in the US.Avt tor 03:53, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reference to US ownership edit

Reference to US ownership of many of the production companies must be mentioned in the introduction to prevent misunderstanding of the meaning of "produced in Canada". I’m open to your suggestions about how we should phrase the reference, but taking it out entirely is not an option. This has nothing to do with the disagreement about what constitutes a Canadian show; it is about helping our readers avoid confusion. --Arctic Gnome 18:52, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The sentence "Many of these have been run by American or other international production companies." already makes this clear. Your additional comment adds no denotative meaning; it merely adds a connotative slant that the shows are not Canadian, which is POV. Avt tor 19:20, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Both versions say the same thing. This is getting a bit silly. - Peregrine Fisher 19:36, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Huh? That sentence wasn't there. Maybe I was looking at an old version of the page. My bad. --Arctic Gnome 21:09, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fact tag edit

See where I put the fact template next to Dark Angel? IMDB claims the country is USA. I can check the primary source, just not at this moment. It was clearly mainly filmed in Vancouver, per all sources. This may require a paranthetical clarification of some sort.

From my perspective, a primary purpose of this list and category is to help users identify related shows, because actors in Canadian shows tend to appear in other Canadian shows. My opinion is that I would like to keep Dark Angel in this list for that reason, pending further justification.

I submit that this is the way to conduct the discussion, line by line, with clear definition and sources, not with unexplained snap deletions. (I appreciate that the great majority of people here are civil, whatever opinion they happen to hold.) The 18 pages I have so far linked to Category:Canadian science fiction television are all shown in IMDB, Amazon, and other databases as indicating Canadian production or co-production.Avt tor 16:27, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Expanding/Improving this Page edit

Btw, I would like to add detail to this page: years, production companies (and co-productions), locations, settings, couple actor names, maybe one sentence descriptions. I think it would make this a more useful and interesting reference. Avt tor 16:32, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. We need to figure out a good way to format that info. If we just add it in parens like "(filmed in Vancouver by Fox)," it's going to get ugly. Maybe a table? - Peregrine Fisher 19:40, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Science fiction? edit

The definition of "science fiction" is rather broad, here. "Highlander?" Corvus cornix 22:37, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, shouldn't the title of the article be extended to include Supernatural shows, which then properly includes shows suc as Hiighlander, and also Supernatural and Tru Calling amongst others? Lost Girls Diary 01:31, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Lost Girls Diary Hello people Im working on some stuff also, like putting more shows for the Telefims and making sure shows that dont belong here isnt on here, more in for let me know! Order edit

How are these listed?

Because it's not alphabetically, and it's not by date produced... If there is a specific order, please let me know, because I can't spot it.

Perhaps a better question would be, what would be the ideal way to list them. Since they're already in sub-sections by date produced it seems to make sense to list them that way, doesn't it?

Thanks. Elishabet (talk) 02:02, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Update list edit

Also, could it be kept up to date? Shows like Titans and Umbrella Academy shot around Toronto. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.71.112.81 (talk) 21:58, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
