Pre-presidency trips
editI don't see the point pre-presidency trips since this is a list of presidential trips. Wykx (talk) 10:39, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
- The foreign trip mentioned in the section was a trip made during his presidential campaign. This was already added before the section. Given that this page is a list for presidential trips, then I suppose we should also remove the mention of that trip together with the section, since it did not happen during the presidency. Merge with presidential trips?
editDoes this page really need its own entry? Most of the content will appear in List of presidential trips made by Donald Trump Bangabandhu (talk) 17:26, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- List of presidential trips made by Barack Obama and List of international presidential trips made by Barack Obama are two separate articles. There is precedent for keeping the articles separate, and I see no reason to combine them. Ethanbas (talk) 17:31, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- Eventually, by next year, List of presidential trips made by Donald Trump will be renamed List of presidential trips made by Donald Trump during 2017, focusing on his presidential trips (both foreign and domestic) during that year and will a follow a chain of similar pages for the following years, whereas List of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump will remain and focus on his international trips during his entire presidency. Add places from multilateral section?
editShould the scheduled places in the multilateral meetings section be added to the future trips section? ToxicOJ (talk) 00:57, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Should Italy be counted twice ?
editI am aware that Donald Trump entered and left Italia two times, but it was during the same european presidential trip. Basically, I think it's an only one same trip in Italy divided by a few days gap. Am I wrong ? (I edited nothing) Titanicophile (talk) 23:31, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- Since he visited Belgium in between during more than one day, it is another visit. Wykx (talk) 06:58, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

Opposition to adding a TBA Kim Jong-un trip.
editI'm opposed to adding any details about a possible trip for Trump to meet with Kim Jong-un at the moment, as has been added once or twice. Currently, the text reads:
President Trump may meet with Kim Jong-un to discuss North Korea's denuclearization. Exact dates and location hasn't been decided yet.[31]
There is nothing but speculation that such a trip will really occur. Indeed, it might not even be a trip at all - for all we know, Kim could (in theory) come to America. Even the "May 2018" date seems suspect, given that, as far as I can tell, it's just a deadline being bantered about by the White House.
Otherwise, we'd have to add an entry for basically anyone Trump expresses an intention to meet.
Trips vs. Visits
editAs currently organized, this article is not a list of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump. It is a list of international presidential visits made by Donald Trump. Anyone who wants to figure out which combination of visits made up each individual trip has to work that out for themselves. Either the title of the article should be changed to be in line with its content, or the article should be reorganized in such a way as to live up to its billing. Personally, I am in favor of the latter. LacrimosaDiesIlla (talk) 14:46, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
- I was WP:BOLD and created some lists. Not sure that this is a great long-term solution, but for now, I think it helps. LacrimosaDiesIlla (talk) 14:54, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
- @LacrimosaDiesIlla: I concur with you on the need for reformatting, and have gone ahead and done so. The layout is now the same as in the other U.S. president international trip articles. Cheers. Drdpw (talk) 20:45, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
Should Summit of Americas be added to Multilateral meetings table
editThere are no more Summit of Americas meetings in 2019 and 2020. This summit should not appear in Multilateral meetings table as it is completely redundant. This table is not a record of past Trump summits but a guide to future meetings. 27.104.132.58 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:29, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- A more accurate heading for this discussion would have been, “Should Summit of the Americas be RESTORED” to the table. As I wrote in my edit summary when I restored the information again yesterday, "table chronicles ALL multilateral meetings during the presidential term" [1]. The lead-in sentence before the table states, The following multilateral meetings are scheduled to take place during Donald Trump's 2017–2021 term in office. You are mistaken, and should not have removed the information. Drdpw (talk) 22:00, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- You added in the SOA summits without consensus on the talkpage in the first place. 27.104.158.215 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 04:42, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- if it's a multilateral meeting during the presidential term it should be there as the table is for meetings during the presidential term past and future עם ישראל חי (talk) 15:46, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

Map error -- Poland
editTrump visited Poland in 2017, but the map (File:List of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump.svg) doesn't highlight it. Would someone fix that? --1990'sguy (talk) 03:36, 2 July 2019 (UTC)

I see some locations on the map that are highlighted seemingly without reason. Guyana, a few dots in the Caribbean, and some near islands countries in Africa bordering the Indian Ocean. Can someone delete the colors?Pacomartin (talk)
2020 Olympics
editAn anonymous editor keeps adding that Trump will make a future trip to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics. I have been unable to find any source for this, and I wanted to post here and not violate the three-revert rule. If no one has anything substantive to offer in the editor's defense I will ask for semi-protection. Jdavi333 (talk) 21:41, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- Jdavi333, I too have not found a single source to substantiate the claim; it definitely fails Wikipedia:RS. Drdpw (talk) 23:28, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Also: I have removed the recently added "future trips" table, as there are no future international presidential trips scheduled at this time. This page should not list a future international trip unless it is almost certain to take place and documented as such by a citation from a reliable source (not even trips that "officials" say are "being planned"), otherwise it's a violation of Wikipedia:CRYSTAL. Drdpw (talk) 23:28, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- I wouldn't necessarily remove the whole table, because there are trips that are scheduled (like summits) or that he mentioned specifically (like India). But I see where RS might be a problem with those. Jdavi333 (talk) 00:22, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao highlighted
editAs far as I know, most of Wikipedia does not include Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macao when talking specifically about Mainland China. I.E. if President Trump had visited Hong Kong twice and Beijing once, there would be separate colors for both. In this case however, I saw that on the map Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao are highlighted which prompted me to scroll down the list and search on the internet to no avail.
I believe that on the map that Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao should be unhighlighted to preserve consistency. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ConspiracyPizza (talk • contribs) 13:55, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

List of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump for 2025-2028
editGood Day,
Donald J. Trump will might possible run again for 2024 elections?? if Trump WINS in 2024, can will a SEPERATE page for List of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump for 2025-2028 or a merge (one) page of List of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump for 2017-2021 and 2025-2028??
Thank you. Rvreyes 11 (talk) 07:09, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Good point. There is a lot to think about from now until the 2024 election (two years from now). For now (but not yet final), I am inclined to make separate pages. However, what pulls me back is the fact that we do not create separate international trip pages for each of the terms of consecutively re-elected presidents, like List of international presidential trips made by Barack Obama. It might not also be necessary to create separate pages if Trump's foreign policy remains pretty much the same as it was during his first term. I would love to hear your thoughts. signed, Pat talk 13:30, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Patrick Cristiano,
- for me, will continue the List of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump if re-elected the president, just like in one merge page in Obama trips and Bush43 trips.
- and what will be introduction
- This is a list of international presidential trips made by Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States. Donald Trump made 19 international trips to 24 countries (in addition to visiting the West Bank) during his presidency, which began on January 20, 2017 and ended on January 20, 2021, and continue on January 20, 2025??
